Burgett has really good hands and is a excellent run blocking tight end. He needs to work on his quickness and speed. Speaking of specialists Nate Needham will be leaving the program and explore other options from different schools
Quickness and speed, the two things you can't work on with significant success.
Needham is no surprise.  Just no room, and we offered Colten McFadden on top of what we already have.

Jackson is a good pickup. We just offered Melvin Jackson, a DB from St. Edward high school. Has offers from Toledo, Air Force, Ball State, Buffalo. Would be a solid commitment if we can land him.

Agreed, James Jackson should be a great signing, but the Jackson we really want is Melvin!  We NEED a big strong fast corner, and all we can get. (who doesn't?)

Big and fast and made a couple really good catches.  All things that should work at YSU!  Looks like good pickup for a team with marginal receivers.

Somebody said 17 but we can take as many walkons as we want.  Not sure what you'd do with this kid.  Certainly not a QB.  Maybe safety?  We'll see.  This might be a good sign because this kid would play somewhere at Slippery Rock or Hiram and I wonder if playoff run and TV coverage made him think twice about YSU?

Good point!  I can hear him now, "yeah yeah yeah we made it to Frisco, but poor coaching with poorly recruited players and a stupid adminstration cost us the national championship.  And they'll never make it back."

18 spots open by my count with 17 seniors and Needham leaving. May have a few extra spots depending on if anyone else leaves the program from the current roster.

If it's 18 spots we gotta be close to being filled
