JUCO Signing Day
« on: December 19, 2012, 12:14:37 PM »
Today is signing day for JUCO players. YSU already has one commitment

Joey Cejduo. Kicker from CA. Has a big leg and is a big kid. 6-3. Finally somebody who has a strong leg. Will definitely help on kickoffs? Had an offer from Arkansas Pine Bluff and was also being recruited by Arizona State

It was back in the Tressel era that we started that. Heacock (then DC) began to recruit NY, GA, and CA for the prep schools and JUCOs. It has really been beneficial over the years. Wolf seems to have opened some doors in Wpa for us ...which I really like and think will have great benefits for us now that we have played Penn State and Pitt.

Evidently Wolf doesn't have much confidence in his recent DLine recruits, Bell, Williams, Strickland, Kromah, Zaborsky, Myers, and Szymczak.

Hard to tell what's going on? Maybe the 7 above moved to different positions... bombed out of school..transfered/quit  ???

Maybe one of these new kids can generate some QB pressure...?

three of the new 4 are ends. Not big guys. Must be looking for more penetration.

Bell, Szymczak, Zaborsky, Kromah are all inside. Williams moved to LB, Strickland was to play outside, but he is up to 300lbs, so he has been inside (really like him personally ...if a guy his size can get penetration ...look out!). Now Meyers is on the end, does anyone remember him playing last year? I know he played at Pitt ...but not that I saw after that. Was he injured.

It is hard to tell if Wolford lost confidence in his own recruits, or (hopefully) he just wants a few older, more experienced players to help out on the line.  I think that we can all agree that starting mostly freshmen or seldom used sophomores on a defensive line is a prescription for disaster.

Prescription for whatever....

I'll still say "the proof is in the pudding".

I am STILL NOT convinced with what the Coach delivers.
Course, when you are old, it is a BIGGER acceptance of what
you expect a Coach to deliver.  TOO bad as my measuring tape
I began with Coach Tressel.  A very difficult to measure up too.
Say what you  will, I also respected    Coach Heacock, he just was
not afforded $$$$ as was his replacement, yipes, give us that
decision to live over.  Sorry folks, just can't get it with this Coach.
Whether it is ME or HIM, I just can't get into it.
