Track and Field
« on: May 26, 2012, 08:09:55 PM »
Well. Bobby Grace is in 15th place in shot-put in the prelims. They advance the first 16 throwers. Everyone has 1 more toss (monster throw to get where he is BTW). There are about 12 more throwers that have two more attempts. If his toss holds, he will advance to the final-16. From there, if he can finish in 12th or better ...he moves out of the regional ...to the nationals.  He is ahead of some very good competition ...as a Soph. Good luck!!!!!  If you have an interest:

These are live updates. Remember he must stay at 16 or better.

Samantha Hamilton also did well, but did not advance. Grace advanced, but did not place in the top-12. Staying at #15. Kaitlyn Griffith finished at #26 ....also needing to be in the top-16 to advance.

I am very proud of these athletes.

They have worked hard. They have earned their laurels.

YSU fans should give them, their (skill) position coaches, and their strength coaches.....cudos.

Lot's of "Never Before" stuff is happening. These two are setting the standard for great throwers in years to come.
