Geneva, Ohio - Freshman Chad Zallow placed first in the 60-meter hurdles to lower his school record and lead the Youngstown State track and field team at the SPIRE NCAA DI Invitational as the meet concluded on Saturday.

Zallow ran a time of 7.75 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles to improve on his pervious school record of 7.79 seconds. He is now ranked 10th in the nation and his time should qualify him for the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships.

Sprinter Nina Grambling came in fourth in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.57 seconds and ninth in the 200-meter dash to clock a time of 24.55 seconds.

In the distance events, Alan Burns took fourth in the men's 5,000-meter run with a time of 14:39.67 and Ryan Sullivan ran a personal-best time of 8:14.94 in the men's 3,000-meter run to finish eighth.

Amber Eles took 10th in the women's 60-meter hurdles to clock a time of 8.79 seconds. Leighton Antonio placed third with a time of 21.44 seconds in the 200-meter dash.

The Penguins are next in action at the Zips invitational on Feb. 19.
