This argument is not about which generation has the best music.  It is about providing a good experience for the actual fans who attend YSU basketball games.  Now once you subtract the young people that have to be there....the players, the cheerleaders, the students who are working is some capacity....you are left with very, very few young people in the stands.  85% of customers are older.  They like to hear our band (the Dana School of Music has an international reputation, in case you did not know) and they do not like to hear loud "music" coming out of that stupid box.  The fact that the athletic department would torture the vast majority of their fans with junk that they do not want to hear is yet another manifestation of the incredibly incompetent marketing that permeates YSU sports.

YSU plays the same music at the same volume that every college in America plays at its basketball games.  If you change it then you will have even less fans there then you do now.

Yea you can't change the music too drastically at all.  Imagine recruiting players to come play at your school while you play music they've never even heard before..?  Not gonna work.

If there was ever a reason I would support 12 - student athletes getting up and quitting a game, it would be when a school decides to play all 30's, 40's, 50's and 60's music to appease sr. citizens in the stands.

Let me guess, your generation was better than our generation now? Right?

If there were ever a college basketball arena to play Frank Sinatra and Chris DeBurgh's "Lady in Red", it would be Beeghly because our fans complain about the music every other arena in college basketball plays.

Imagine our team coming out to this song:

Imagine the reputation we would have with that music..........

Don't give these people any ideas VT. They would most likely embrace us looking like idiots to appease their terrible music taste.
