Just sayin,  he played 2 years under Rollie and is from Cleveland.  Vikings coach left for the Missouri job. Probably more money and a better budget at CSU.

A Penguin for life!!!

Gates was making $550,000 at CSU, which was highest in the Horizon League.  Last year Calhoun signed a contract through the 2024-2025 season and I think was making $200,000/year.

With the exception of the money which is huge it would equate to Benedict Arnoldesque.

Any new contract awarded to a YSU coach should contain a clause that prohibits that individual from leaving for the same position in the Horizon League.  At least that is what I would do if I were the YSU AD.

In fact, I think that CSU believes that they can do much better than Calhoun. After five years when your last recruiting class was not as good as your first recruiting class, that is a big red flag.
