Women's BKB

Women win again today at Detroit.  I know Detroit is struggling, but it is a win without some of our top players. Jen got hurt in the 3rd quarter, our last taller player.  Hope she and McKenzie can be back for the weekend's games.

It looked like Wendler was limping rather badly as the team left the court.  She was not on crutches and no one was assisting her, so perhaps the injury is not as bad as it looked.  Four 6' players on the roster; all four hurt before the mid-way mark of the conference schedule.  :-[

The good thing is that, like the men's team after this evening, 7 of the final 11 games are at home.

It is amazing how Barnes has been able to keep this team competitive, given this unprecedented rash of injuries to important players.  He is earning every nickel of his salary (unlike perhaps a certain higher profile head coach that the university employs.)

A big testament to the girls left healthy (a small group) to pull out these 2 wins. Detroit had just beaten CSU so they were better than their record. Really hope some of these girls can get back healthy for the stretch run in conference play.
