Former Youngstown State throwers Bobby Grace and Conner Neu will compete at the U.S. Olympic Trials beginning Friday in Eugene, Ore. Grace will participate in the shot put while Neu is in the hammer throw.

Grace, who was a member of the YSU program from 2009-14, competes in the shot put on Friday. The qualifying round is set for 11 a.m. Pacific Time/2 p.m. Eastern Time with the finals being held later in the day at 5:40 Pacific/8:40 p.m. Eastern Time. Competing for the Shore Athletic Club, Grace has a season-best throw of 20.51 meters in the shot put. He is one of 12 throwers to eclipse the 20.50m mark entering the Olympic Trials.

Neu, who finished his YSU career earlier this month in Eugene, will compete on Wednesday, July 6 at 5 p.m. Pacific/8 p.m. Eastern time. He is one of 16 throwers to eclipse the 70-meter mark this year. Neu placed 13th at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships and was recognized as a second-team All-American in 2016.

The shot put finals will air live on NBC on Friday evening along with the 10,000-meter run at 9 p.m. The hammer throw will not be shown on National TV. However, all non-televised events will be covered on USATF.TV.
