Bobby Hain Named Horizon League Player of the Week

Indianapolis, Ind. -- Youngstown State senior Bobby Hain has been named the Horizon League Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday (Nov. 30).

Hain led the Penguins to a 3-0 record last week and helped Head Coach Jerry Slocum achieve the 700th win of his career with a 79-69 win over North Dakota on Nov. 23. The Penguins also defeated Thiel, 69-55, on Nov. 25, and Niagara, 88-70, on Nov. 28.

This is the second weekly award of Hain's career and the first since Dec. 8, 2014.

For the week, Hain averaged 19.3 points, 9.7 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 1.3 blocks per game while shooting 57.1 percent (24-of-42) from the field.

Hain scored a career-high 29 points on 12-of-17 shooting with 10 rebounds, foru assists and two steals against North Dakota. It marked the 20th double-double of his career.

Against Thiel, Hain scored 13 points with eight rebounds and four assists.

The 6-foot-10 forward nearly made history with the program's first triple-double. Hain scored 16 points with 11 rebounds and nine assists in the win at Niagara.

Hain, the Horizon League's active leading scorer with 1,141 career points, ranks fourth in the league in scoring (16.4 ppg), fifth in rebounding (7.9 rpg), seventh in assists (3.6 apg), eighth in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.4) and 14th in field-goal percentage (.506).

Hain also ranks 22nd on the Youngstown State all-time scoring list.

The Penguins host Robert Morris, Wednesday, Dec. 2, at the Beeghly Center. Tip-off is at 7:05 p.m.
