Horrible loss and we lost to a losing team on the road when we were 4-0.  Shooting was so bad.  Lets hope the men can compete tonight.   SFA has size.

Any chance for a winning season ended when Cameron, the freshman with star-quality upside, when down with a leg injury. We already lost the big freshman center from West Virginia to a season-ending injury in the preseason.

Jackson brought in three transfers after she was hired. None of them can help us. She starts all three and they collectively went 4-28 today. Transfer Watkins looked great against a D2 opponent; did little against D1.

I wish that Jackson would bite the bullet and play the four remaining healthy freshmen over these place-holders. Turn the inevitable losing season into a developmental year for the young ones (I sound like Phillips.)

Wait till you guys get to endure another year of Potesta in front of a microphone for the men's games. Is there a more clueless, cliche-ridden commentator in the country?

Presby knocks off Monmouth today 71-61.  I figured Presby was at best the 3rd best team in the tourney and never figured they'd sweep all 3 games. They did need OT to beat SFA and beat winless Monmouth by 10 so their "upset" win by 25 over YSU was obviously the most impressive.

Women lose at Bucknell 51-36.  YSU with 15% shooting going 9 of 60.  Ron Potesta said this could be a "magical season" after the win against Mercyhurst.   I said earlier in this thread that it would be a losing season.  I hope Ron is right.

Mud,you are 100%.   Siem U was supposed to be a big get in the portal and has really struggled for a guy with 4 years of college basketball.  I'm more down on Nelson than Wilkerson.  Thought he would be a huge addition an so far he has not shot the ball well and has been a little loose with the ball.

Dynes needs to grow as a player and not get foolish fouls which hurt the team.  Can't make excuses about all new players because every team in the country with few exceptions has this problem and YSU has done this the last couple of seasons and still won 20 plus games.

Need to bounce back against SFA.

I don't think I've ever turned off a broadcast until this one last night. I couldn't listen any longer once they got done 18.  This has to rank up there with one of the worst losses I can remember in a long time when you go in as a favorite...to lose by 25 and score only 42 is mind boggling.

The stats are so ugly...27% from the field (22 from 3) and 44% from FT.

I know it's still early in the season and YSU has played less games than a lot of schools, but there's some cause for concern. Outside of the Syracuse game, YSU has yet to play an entire good game. The only 2 wins have came against Chicago St and Monmouth, who are both still winless. YSU played poor first halves against both teams.

YSU is shooting less than 24% from 3 this year and only a tick over 36% from the field and under 70% from the FT line. Siem Uijtendaal shot over 42% from 3 two years ago at Canisus and over 38% last year averaging over 13 ppg. He's only 1-9 from 3 this year and avg less than 2 ppg.  Him, Dynes, and Wilkerson have been a disappointment so far.  There was talk last year from Calhoun that Wilkerson had a shot at starting last year before his injury.

Hopefully they bury the basketball from last night and can play better tonight.  Stephen F. Austin only beat Monmouth by 5 last night.

So Phillips had 129 players; too bad 100 of them could not play at this level. This might force him to stop this "developmental" nonsense and find more real DI football players.

And there will be a large menu of discarded FBS football players that are seeking new homes. Columnists have suggested that most big time schools must release between 20-30 players to meet the new roster limits. How many of these marginal FBS players can actually help a FCS program is unknown.

Can't have pathetic efforts like that when you damn near beat Syracuse at their place!
