YSU opening as 9.5 favorite. Pretty big line considering they beat us by double figures at their place.

First ever season sweep of Wright St!!

Not pretty but they took care of business. This was a vital W! This is a very important stretch of our schedule. Have to win the ones at home.

Next NKU, and @PFW @CSU then home vs UWM.....so it was big to get these last few wins

I think we missed the ball in recruiting local talent. The QB from South Range has real potential.  Great arm and can run.
The solution to winning in 2023 isn't always going to be local talent. If local talent has MAC or decent FCS offers that is one thing, but if they don't there is a reason for it. Most of the local kids in this cla$$ are PWO's. Look at the numbers the Lowellville kid put up. Great for the HS Level vs D7 opposition, but against the big boys in the Dakotas, you tell me?

Per 247 sports, that kid only had 1 FBS offer (Kent) and one FCS (Eastern Illinois)
Did we not even offer him?

Also curious where you guys see the "star" rankings for some of these kids. Most I see is on 247

Attendance was 3801 Friday yet today was 4100 yet no student section wasn't filled.   Hummmm.
Maybe paid attendance is what they go by.  lots of free tickets for friday game.   Good crowd for a Sunday non
the less.

Yea I saw that too. No way there were more fans today than Friday. Has to be paid attendance. Either way, great to win both. Keep rolling! Important stretch upcoming!

Great news. Dude is a stud. Was wondering what his thought process would be.
Dont think he would have been drafted unless he felt he could transfer back up the the FBS level.

Worth sticking around and having and building on 2022 with a passing QB for the entirety of the year and could climb up the WR ranks.

What's Beeghly hold? 6500?
Assuming 3k already sold, how many students on top of that just show up on gameday?

Realistically, would be nice to get 4 - 5k total
Would be awesome if they still had the bleachers behind the dang basket!!

unless we get help in terms of portal transfers for next year we are going to be in deep trouble.   Most of the bench is weak and don't contribute much at least on the road.   So we will probably hit the portal hard.  Are any of the seniors eligible to get an extra year next year?????

Oh we will be a bottom feeder unless Calhoun hits the portal hard. Hardly any contributions from underclassmen. Lovelace can take a big step but other than that who else is there?? Hunter, Rathan Mayes, Dunn, and Lovelace??
We will be where GB is now. Better make it count this season!

2 very solid wins on the road. GB should be a win. Milwaukee is solid this year but it’s not unreasonable to expect 4-0 on this road stretch.

I have to say, I’m pleasantly surprised that we are up this much on the road vs a solid OU team that’s playing well. Saw we were 2.5 favorites before tip.

Crenshaw to Tennessee State.

Move to the MAC. Save tremendously on travel year in and year out. Actually compete for a conference championship. Generate excitement by establishing rivalries w/ Akron, KSU, etc.
Play two power 5 programs a year for additional money.

Hell, I'd come see YSU play Akron and Kent each year rather than Southern Illinois and Indiana St for crying out loud. I'd imagine others would as well. The FCS is a poor product. Get on board like everyone else and get to the FBS. Bull**** we cant do it. Don't tell me YSU cant join the MAC but UMASS can move up and now you have teams like Austin Peay, Dixie St (UT Tech),  and Tarleton St going FBS. Give me a break

Without Tressel you don't have 4 Championships
Without Tressel you aren't in the MVFC
Without Tressel there's no WATTS
Without Tressel there's no Don Constantini Multimedia Center and additional Loges on the Westside of Stambaugh
Without Tressel Wick Ave and 5th Ave beautifications don't exist
Without Tressel there's no Center for Innovation in Additive Manufacturing
Without Tressel there's no Watson Team Building for the Engineering School
Without Tressel there's no Jim and Melissa Dibacco Family Leadership Center
Without Tressel you don't have Cafaro Family Field
Without Tressel it's hard to fathom where the university would be academically and financially without his return.
Without Tressel the Youngstown Foundation wouldn't be where they are today

I don't know Strollo and you have every right to defend him and his accomplishments. However, it's pretty clear who the most important employee at YSU has been in the last 50 years.  Love or hate the guy he is a winner.

Yea it’s pretty hard to argue with what Tressel has done for this university. Especially since his return as president. Defend Strollo all you want but you’re reaching a bit to say he’s been more important than Tressel lol

Duquesne and RMU have beautiful facilities. Especially in comparison to beeghly. If I’m a recruit I would want to play at one of those beautiful gyms or an empty ancient beeghly?

I was thinking because of optics of how terrible it looks mostly empty. Also, wouldn’t be surprised if they were broken. They’re prehistoric.
