Must win out. Only chance IMO. Though 7-4 with a loss to OSU, two 3 point losses on the road and a close loss (assuming) to the #1 team in the country would be considered at selection time but we know how the committee is. 8-3 is a must.

Btw,  I am a big Tressel fan. I believe Tressel himself would tell you what I mentioned about talent.  He's a great couch and a better person.  Reasonable, patient. He loved his boys. Same thing as president.  Not a huge OSU fan either.  I'm not sure why anyone In Youngstown would view an OSU game as more important or more fun than a ysu game for someone from Youngstown not Columbus.  Go guins

2016 graduate here. Couldnt agree more. Had a campus job as a trashman while going to school. Tress stopped and spoke to us and had normal conversations multiple times. Can also remember when he spoke (along with other candidates) before becoming pres. Only one of them not to speak from podium but down on the floor amongst us. Not above. Also agree on the OSU - YSU comment. Those from Youngstown and have ties to YSU should care more about YSU than OSU. Never understood that.

Honestly, a 6-5 season is more realistic at this point. Hope I am wrong but 2 loses already.
Probably add this week, SDSU and either MO ST or SD.

Why so much negativity? We played solid. OSU is a top 5 program year in and year out and we competed. As the post indicated above, be lucky it wasn't like any of the scores vs other Ohio teams! We got some exposure and got experience and got paid! But I agree, I think the Northern Iowa game might define how our season goes!

Some thoughts….

Interesting game and can’t be too mad about how it finished. Yes 35-7 is never good but considering the legitimacy of OSU, this was good. We played hard and competed. I also think we were down our starting CB for the first half, correct? I think if Davidson stays in on the one drive where Beau throws a pick we at least have a chance at 10. I disagree with on of the previous comments about not having a HR threat. I disagree. I think King is explosive enough & we have 3 WRs I think can break a game open staring with Oliver. King should get 15-20 touches. It’s nice to see a balanced offense with Mitch at the helm. Beau looks gritty but I worry his size will not hood up in MVFC if he is to be the starter next year.
Did anyone else heart drop into their stomach when they saw Oliver’s knee bend like that? sigh of relief when he got up on his own and hobbled it off. If this team doesn’t shoot itself in the foot i think 9-2 or 8-3 are very realistic expectations.

Spoke real quick with coach DP at Kid Rock this past weekend in Youngstown. Seems like such a lively and very positive individual. Asked if I was getting pumped up about the season! I think he will have the boys ready to go.

He is right. Records are earned, not given. There is not justification for this team to play on just because some ppl think he deserves the record?? He had 5 season and still fell short. It is what it is.
If they are going to count Davis and all 5 seasons plus a garbage invite to the CBI then they should count Pete's freshman year.
