Wow! Butler picked a fine time to resmeble YSU on the court. Outrebouded, can't hit jump shots.  One shot and done, UCONN scores at the other end.  Too much of a hole dig out from under in the second half. Sound familiar!!!

Please recruit someone other than a 5'9" point guard.  I want some damn big men that can atleast hold their own on the boards.  Eargle can't do it by himself.

YSUPride says it best on the other site in reply to (YSU basketball future bright).  We'll lose a couple of guys off the team, not play any defense and have no big men of consequence.  Another 20-loss season next year.  Our recruiting will look Div II against other teams in the Horizon.

Whether you say Slocum can not recruit big guys or not, the fact remains it is why we lost half the games we lost.  How many offensive rebounds did Valpo and Milwaukee, Cleveland St. have against us.  I could easily count five to seven a game.  It does not take an Einstein to see where our problems were this year!  Hint:  It wasn't guard play!  I was post play, even though Eargle is a beast at 6-7.

This is another game that could have been won!  Get some damn big guys so we don't keep getting hammered and the boards.  Eargle can't do it all himself.  What does Slocum against reccruiting 6-9, 6-10 inside players?

I personally like Slocum, and hope he gets one more year with the guys on the team now.  That's if they stay together,but that is never the case.  But darn it, please get some 6-8, 6-9 guys to help Eargle out and contribute around the basket.   We constantly get beat underneath and don't have enough scoring on the wing position or center position.

I would like to say one more year for Slocum with the same of group of guys on the team now, but he loses a couple off the team every year for some reason or another.  Someone posted on the Cleveland Plain Dealer sight that Youngtown State was an up and coming team in the league because they gave CSU fits after beating Butler and taking Valpo into overtime.  The CSU announcers even mentioned how close to winning YSU was in just about every game for the last month.  However, could the same thing have been said for about the last 3 or 4 years?

Damn, I meant 6-2 point guards.  A little proof reading goes a long way!   I love the way our team competes night in, night out; but this losing so many games in the last five minutes is really painful.

Exactly, what I thought and felt for years PRIDE.  We continue to be one decent big man and one decent scoring wing player away from being a factor in this league.  Yet we constantly recruit 6-3 and 6-12 guards.  What gives?

How many games now have we had a decent lead and competed well enough to win only to blow it in the last five minutes?  I've counted about 7-8 times.  Half of those go the other way, and we have maybe 13-14 wins now!  Just saying. Is it the coach, not enough wing players of big men.  You tell me!  I'm tired of hearing the team is young!  Other teams have young players too.
