YSU Penguin Athletics / Re: Game Day: Robert Morris
« on: September 28, 2019, 10:52:42 AM »
YSU should defeat Robert Morris by 3 or more TD's, but we cannot take them lightly.

YSU 35  RM 14

GO YSU!! Then the MVFC

The FCS Coaches Poll has YSU ranked at #21. This is the poll used by the playoff committee. We still have Robert Morris, then the MVFC.

If we don't correct the may errors (punting, penalties & etc.) committed in the Howard game; this could be like the Butler fiasco. Duquesne will be up for this game and we must be prepared physically and mentality. We must get out in front right at the get go!

This game is predicted to be close; but if we learned from the Howard game, we should win by 3 plus touchdowns.

It was  a good effort by all the team and the coaches on our 1st game in the season. Yes, we made several mistakes, but when you go 4 and 0 on turnovers; that's a very good day! That killed Samford's momentum.

It was great to Joe Craycraft get his chance to play and he looked good on the roll out pass to the right for 16 yds. Our next game is against Howard. So keep on rolling YSU!!

Here we go -  our 1st game of the season.

Mays will start at QB, not necessarily because Bo likes Mays more. Bo likes veterans that have seen action in tough situations. So, I believe Mays will start, but he may not finish.
Samford will be a formidable opponent and last years films will not show anything about this year's Samford team. Thus we will have to adjust on the fly, something we did not do well against Butler last year.
Maybe that horrible lost to Butler will motive and inspire this years team to be determined. I expect the game to be close, but following YSU for years I have seen many errors that put us in the lost column due to dropped passes, fumbles, interceptions missed tackles and critical injuries.
It would be very nice to win this one in front of a large TV audience. So GO BO and the YSU team to a victory!!

go guins and double et, those are terrible takes to have on a sports chat board. I suspect you take no issue with the president forcing generals to stand with him and the use of military equipment for a independence day celebration as well as the mistreatment of migrant children in internment camps.
Cjm, you are right. This is a sport board and I will not discuss this political issues with you. BTW, What part of my statements you consider to be terrible?

Before you lecture me about immigrants, I just want you to know that the facts. I am an legal immigrant coming to this country with few hundred $ in my pocket. I have lived under colonialism, communism, socialism and capitalism. I lived under places controlled dictators where we had no voting rights.

I am representing this great country of ours as chief of the US delegation to sit across the table from the French, German, British, Japan..... Oh, also China to protect the interests of our industry for the last 25 years.
I am also training our STEM students as a Full Professor at YSU.

So, please state your opinion next time instead of criticizing others as terrible.

Peace and bye

This is a sports board and let us keep that way. The closing of the Vindy is sad, but since I have lived out of the Youngstown area for 33 years I won't miss it. Double ET that was a great rebuttal and I am happy you are an American. Keep up the good job at YSU.

Thanks for the East Stands photos, this looks wonderful. Occasionally, we can get a view of the East side"s new addition via WKBN's weather cameras. Again thanks for the photos, I hope to get to one of the games this fall.

YSU baseball has no pitching, so don't expect them to go very far.

go guins

Good analyses of the baseball and softball teams. Very little pitching for baseball and terrible hitting for the softball team. They will do better in the Horizon league, but it still will be a long, long season for both teams.

A very low possibility of YSU men's team winning, they somehow find a way to miss shoots, miss foul shoots, foul out of games and etc. Most fans have written them off, but I would like to see some hope with a win.

Pride, the failures at home are a classic example of a vicious circle:

perpetual losing = few fans = bad atmosphere = no intimidation of opponent = perpetual losing

Sad but true, this team is not a D1 team!

After two difficult away games in Wisconsin the girls came back with vengeance at home with Wright St.
They hustled, found openings and keep the pressure on Wright St. Nice win, now do it again against N. Kentucky.

I am surprised that NDSt hasn't moved up to the FBS level, they would make a lot more money. They would not dominate the FBS level like they do the FCS level, but they would get into FBS bowls maybe some high paying ones.

So. Dakota St. is a good team, but NDSt controlled the offense and their defense is vey good.
