As optimistic as I am about the season, I guess there is the point that its better to set the bar low and be suprised. I would like for them to make the playoffs, but I'm not sure they will. I think pelini is a good coach and he has the possibility of coming out guns blazing, but there is also the possibility it takes him more than one year to develop the players and the schemes enough to get the team where we all want them to be.

ysufan0505, just curious, is the lol a sign of derision from the statement? And even if they are projected to lose that much in the massey ratings, im still optimistic for the season.

I know what you mean! I get excited every year, but the last time I was this excited was when I was at the ysu pitt game in 2012. I am optimistic about this year. I also think that YSU Pitt will be a very interesting game this year and ysu could pull the upset again.

The article didn't actually say he was transferring to YSU. Its not official yet. But it is leaking he was interested in leaving. Not sure why either if its about playing time. He will see quite abit on a top 5 defense no less. But glad to get him! Per Joe Scalzo on twitter: "I can confirm there's mutual interest between Jalyn Powell (Michigan State / Warren Harding) and YSU. Expect decision either way next week". He tweeted that on June 12. Hope it does become official this week!

So the story mentioned he had a breathalyzer test but the "results are pending". What the heck? Breathalyzer's are instantaneous!

Figured I would throw my two cents in here, I cant remember the name of the team, but i remember one of the last three years, there was a team that made the playoffs because it was a conference champion but had a losing record (it was either 5 or 6 and 7 if i remember). I realize this is a separate issue, but felt it was a relevant point to add to the discussion of whether or not the current system has flaws with playoff selection.

YSU Penguin Athletics / Re: 2015 MVFC Recruiting Rankings
« on: February 10, 2015, 07:56:35 AM »
Hey all! New to the forum as a poster, but am a recent ysu alum and have read this forum for a while now. Anyway, I  wanted to ask why was it said, I think by IAA Fan, that MSU had the only official 3 star recruit this class in the MVFC? Everything I've seen on Isiah Scott had him being a 3 star recruit and he committed to YSU.
