Such a disappointing year.  Did we not easily have the talent to finish 7-4 at the absolute worst?  I know it was a standard company line, but reading comments from the players before the ISU game bothered me.

I recognize "weedgate" & I am not saying we should or should not hire them. Pete is an easier hire, because he was not toking, but I do believe it may be too soon.

Whoa Dan.  You are woefully misinformed.  Are you sure it was weed?   It is going to be hard for me to comment on very much here because of relationships, but if I get the balls maybe I will send you a PM.

Okay, next question is WTF is Pelini thinking taking this job? From HC at Nebraska to HC of an FCS program that has made the playoffs 1 time in 14 years. Pretty sharp drop off. Hard for me to believe the YSU job is the best he can do. And, he had best win and win big, or he can forget another FBS Head job.

Losing the "money game", losing to NDSU and at least 1 other MVFC team, then going to playoffs and winning 1 game will be failure for a coach that was HC for 7 years at Nebraska. People will be expecting Tressel like results. And, not just YSU fans. Failure to beat teams like NDSU, failure to win MVFC and failure to make deep playoff run and win NC within next 2-3 years will just make the opinion that "Pelini teams cannot win the big games" echo louder than ever.

Maybe we are going FBS Division 1

Why did he take this job?  Do not discount the fact that he and MP want their kids to go to Mooney.  I saw them this summer and the two oldest ones are near high school age the best I could tell.

Add the whole family thing into the mix.  They both have family here and that could be a big reason too.  Doing the right thing or what you perceive as the right thing for your wife and kids and putting aside your ambition is an honorable thing.

Should be a totally stress-free FUN job for him and he is out of the pressure cooker.

It's going to be interesting.

Why would they be calling the ticket office?  There will still be plenty of free tickets in the tailgate lots, just like always.  The corps. can't possibly use or even give away all the tickets they buy.

Maybe all the Mooney fans will now realize that there is another team that plays in town and will come to games on Saturdays to support one of their own.

We need a "like" button......but don't look now, Mooney crowds are down, down, down, no where near what they were when they had the dream team which lost to uhhhhhhh  Coldwater.

i DIDN'T READ this whole thread of 1700 messages or whatever it is....just wanted to mention.....

I know Bo personally (played at Mooney with my oldest son)  Saw him this summer and met his kids.  I know for a fact that he would LOVE for his kids to attend Mooney for high school.

Wife also a Mooney grad and obviously they have lots of family in Y-town.

I did notice someone mentioned asst coaches pay would be an issue.  Could Bo sign for $1 and stipulate the money he would have received be paid to asst coaches?

What a coup that would be to have him in charge.  Imagine the defense!

Just heard from a very very reliable source that YSU may still get in.  The committee has taken a liking to the fight of our mighty Guins and feel sorry that we haven't made it many years so we may get in, plus we draw well for away playoff games.

Yes, I definitely agree.  I also agree that Gore and the Scientists are spot-on with the Global Warming.....errrrrrr Climate Change Bullsh**, Boy George and Culture Club belong in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Bill Cosby has only had sex with his wife.

This is my first post this year.  I have to say I haven't missed any of your predictions, pejoratives and pissed-offedness (yes that is a word)

YSU football has sunk to levels of Thiel or Hiram but without the attendance.  Good Lord and WTF?
