YSU Penguin Athletics / MBB vs GB
« on: February 09, 2019, 06:57:39 PM »
We're up 51- 33 at half .  Long way to go but defense and intensity might be the best I've seen this season
Love seeing hands getting in the passing lanes and everyone  conscious with help defense.

Another road win 72 - 70.   Naz bounces back with 15 and 9 boards.   I saw that Big John Salley jr  gives us a presence in the post.  The floor opens up when he gets touches and he passes it well .
Thanks to Detroit's asst coach for throwing a players shoe (very bizarre) across the court that resulted in a tech foul and gave us 2 ft late in the game.

Down 37 to 20 at half.  YSU has 14 turnovers and only 11 made baskets.  8 of 28 fg and 3 for 17 from three

Down 4 at half.   No one ever posted on the Wright state game .  I think if anyone is paying attention you could see the potential of this young team.  Might be tired of hearing they're young but Quizz and Simmons are potential all league the next 3 years.   Olamide might be the best shot blocker in the Horizon and he's plays few minutes because of fouls.

Saw coach's post game and you can see he's frustrated because he knows it's just maturity with only one senior.    As bad as I want them to win now,I'll still enjoy what they are and I'm pumped for the next few years to come with the talent Calhoun is bringing in.

YSU Penguin Athletics / men's basketball vs TOSU

We know we're going to get pounded .   Ohio State does not have a lot of length to totally dominate us.   Wesson is big but not  much of a shot blocker although he's too strong and skilled for our bigs.   Kyle Young their other low post player is more of a heart & hustle type.

OSU has good shooters and great defense, hopefully the Penguins make a good showing.

YSU Penguin Athletics / YSU vs CMU mens B-ball

Down 7 at half and playing their worst floor game.  14 turnovers in the 1st half and giving up 8 offensive rebound is not a recipe for w's.

YSU Penguin Athletics / Men's basketball secret scrimmage

Some one posted on twitter that YSU beat Niagara by 20.  Not sure if that means anything but last year we got beat badly in the preseason scrimmage.    Anyone have any info ?

YSU Penguin Athletics / ESPN+ and YSU sports

Not sure how long espn plus has been around but I've noticed they have been promoting more.  I love the fact that I can watch almost every YSU basketball & football game at no cost on line at espn3 .
I have a suspicion that some of those games this upcoming season will be on  espn plus which charges $5 a month which I would pay although like anyone else i'm happy with the status quo.
