Give me the Y any day of the week over the Penguin and spin it around so those viewing at home on ESPN+ and ESPN3 don't see it backwards, looks bush league on tv.

Add McNeese State:

@ YSU 2021
@ McNeese State 2024

Don't remind me of that Akron game , which I am vehemently opposed to. However, McNeese will be more than a challenge for us. Those who can remember the greatest championship game ever in 1997 will look forward to it. If we do not spend some time on the option defense, we will go down.

Please explain why you are opposed to use collecting a check to take a 45-minute bus ride to beat a FBS team and pack their stadium in red and white?  Please tell!!

What is that on his page? Poland? Is there not a DI college in your city? I live in Upper Arlington OH, they have a DI football team. Gee let's take look at how many major Columbus sports media figures have anything but Buckeyes, Blue Jackets or Crew (90%+ will be buckeyes) on their web pages. Think small ... be small. Support your Guins!

You have issues.

Me thinks we have the coach they might want.

YSU Penguin Athletics / Re: Season Ticket Letter
« on: April 01, 2019, 07:30:55 PM »
Anybody else get their letter and notice that it says 7 exciting home games but only lists six on the letter itself? It left out the November 2nd North Dakota State game (which was on the little insert season schedule). Someone apparently made a mistake and it didn't get caught. Also, I'm lucky I got mine. They put the wrong address on my letter, and the post office put my correct address above with a question mark. To be fair, they had a 1 where there should have been a 7 so it was off by one digit but it is a big difference considering it was the first digit in the string and not the last.

Our athletics department is not run like a true D1 department.  We deserve better.

A transfer like this is sometimes a coach sort of maybe showing the guy the door with honesty of playing time.

but at the end of the day, when you are at the mercy of someone like Rick Love to market a sport/event your screwed.

Would rather have wrestling or mens soccer. Swimming is a loser.
Wrestling is like ice hockey.  Those that are into it are REALLY into it, but to the rest of us -0-.  Other than football, basketball (2) nothing is going to be a home run, but soccer is the coming sport and we need to be in soccer going forward.

Have you been to a high school wrestling match around here?  It outdraws basketball games at most schools and the talent locally is superior to that of swimming and soccer.  I'm sorry, but I don't think people are going to line up to spend money to go to a soccer game over a wrestling match.  Wrestling matches at Beeghly would do very well with paid attendance with the cult-like following that wrestling has around here.  You want to talk an up and coming sport around here its wrestling.

I'd gladly pay 20 dollars to not have to sit through a soccer game/match.

No wrestling?  The state of Ohio has become one of the top states in the country for high school wrestling.  We are missing out on a sport that people would pay to go see.

YSU Penguin Athletics / Re: McNutt Gone

McNutt is an arrogant a$$.

I'll tell a little story.

Before this past season started he wanted to toughen up his secondary so he brings them down to Jack Loew's Southside Boxing Club and my friend Vinny O'Neill who runs the amateur program there was putting them through a workout.

I run a local boxing website and Vinny and I even do a little Youngstown boxing based podcast so I swung by the gym that day since we were doing our show and I had to pick Vinny up, not even knowing they were going to be there....hell I don't think Vinny even knew.

So I'm up on the ring apron keeping time for Vinny using my cell phones stopwatch and homeboy walks up to me and was about to smack the phone out of my hand because he thought I was filming his players working out.  I guess that is his move in life, knocking people's phones out of their hands.

Anyhow, he tried apologizing to me but I blew him and his big melon head off for the most part.

With that said, he seemed passionate and intense but he needs to learn to hold those emotions back at certain times and as someone said hopefully he can get it together.

What is the matter, cannot support your convictions so you attack the person? Without anything else behind it (like a return game or offer to join the conference); any 6-year old knows what a waste this game is. I want my money games to have power conference teams and power conference pay-checks. BTW, if you really do have a six-year-old, then chances are you do not even remember the last time we played Akron in football. If we had a P5 offer, you should wish to drop this game in a heartbeat

wrong again.  I was born in 1981 and was at the game at the Rubber Bowl wearing a Jerry's Kid's shirt that my uncle had gotten for me.  Your math is almost as bad as your sports knowledge.  Nice try, though.

You're are so clueless about everything on this board.  Seriously my 6-year-old daughter has a better grasp on the reality on sports than you.

Trouble is brewing.
Bo being Bo, or something new?  To my knowledge Bo has NOT signed a new contract, so we don't have a head coach yet, who cares about the OL guy?
"Trouble brewing" Bo doesn't sign but we do have Carl as the interim HC.  How ironic is that?

Coaches coaching without a signed extension is nothing new in college athletics.

UWGB appears to be 1.5 point favorites, I've seen it moved to 2 on some sites.

Youth, two freshman and sophomore lead the way!

Exciting, but then as a YSU fan you remember that we average about 3-4 defectors an offseason.  I truly hope these guys who are making up this core realize the potential this team has if they grow up together here.  Should be a fun ride, now time to protect home court.  Unfortunately, we've been better on the road :(
