YSU Penguin Athletics / Re: Season over

I hope the coaches are using the downtime researching the transfer portal.  We need immediate help on offense OL, QB the top 2 don't appear to be D1 talent, WR can't get open and can't catch when they are, RB we have a good back in JM but we need backup to spell him hopefully someone with size.

Missouri State did a good job in getting help hopefully our coaches can do the same.

Kind of ironic the coach who has been stressing that the players not quit & keep going till the end of the game quits.  And it makes us look like a bunch of pu$$ys instead of or blue collar tough nose image that he talks about.

In do not think that this season counts against eligibility.  If so no need to redshirt.  Hopefully Crenshaw gets some playing time this spring.  He had offers from Indiana, Kentucky, Cincinnati to name a few.  He is too talented to sit on the bench at YSU.  If so he will not be here long.  I have heard talk about footwork issues, but that's why we have QB coaches.  A raw talent that may have the potential to elevate the QB position here to a level equal to the better teams in our league.

The best QB should get the job.  That determination may not come till fall but everyone should get a shot this spring.

The running backs coach must have seem some potential in him to bring him there.  I hope it works out for him there.

I see Braxton Chapman is transferring to N. Ill.  Anyone know why?  He is a big back and seemed to do OK when given a chance to play.

I think that if we move Crenshaw to TB he is gone.  I hope not but he can go to a good FBS program to play TB.  He is here to play QB.  Hopefully the coaching staff can work out the issues with his pa$$ing.

Looking forward to QB competition Craycraft, Waid & Crenshaw.  This should be interesting.  Craycraft & Waid both have some playing time and Crenshaw comes in highly rated.  Talked to a person who saw him play in a state semifinal game and he said he was amazing.  However it works out one of them will probably be gone in the fall.

Tough schedule 2 maybe 3 wins with some luck.  Probably won't see NDSU QB or any other players who are draft prospects.  Should have played a couple of games this fall when we had the chance.  Could have firmed line up and got players experience with new coaches & players.  BIG MISTAKE

Does anyone know what is going on with our football team?  Are they practicing, working out or what. I certainly hope they are not wasting this time. We should have used this as our spring practice and had the EKU game as the end. New coach, new system and a lot of starting positions to fill.  Seems like this would have been a good time to get these things in place and be ready to come out strong in the spring if that happens.

It seems that many teams mostly OVFC in our division are playing non conference games in the fall.  Maybe they are more serious about their football than we are.  NDSU is not wasting this time and we know how serious they are. Maybe Strollo is using this time to drum up money from supporters to build a world cla$$ bowling alley for the bowling team.

We will miss Reed.  Our competition will miss Gibson.

Got an email saying season ticket letter coming mid June.

Fan base has deteriorated in recent years.  I am concerned that if we do not play this year it may be gone for years.  Tough for new coaching staff and all the players.

I like the a$$istants so far. The Coordinators have more experience than what we had under Bo. His were not much more than graduate a$$istants.  And the other a$$istants look like a good supporting staff.

Is Crenshaw still a verbal?  Is he enrolled? If he is really serious about YSU he should be here for the spring practice.  Otherwise probably still shopping for a better offer.

My concern is that he Pi$$es  away Waid's red shirt on 3 meaningless games.  If he does this he should be fired at seasons end.  Poor planning and player management.
