YSU Penguin Athletics / Re: Allen Jones

When we start to lose quality players at other positions because they can not get on the field, we will truly be all the way back.

Great way to look at it. A good problem to have.

Just around the corner, any thoughts on the game? Not sure what MSU has coming back.

Heard this the other day. Wish him well!

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Allen Jones was one of Eric Wolford's first recruits when he arrived at Youngstown State. Now, Jones is taking his talents elsewhere.

21 Sports has learned that Jones has left the YSU football program after one season.

The former Ursuline standout, and one of Eric Wolford's first recruits, played in nine games as a true freshman; carrying the ball eight times for 86 yards and one touchdown. He also played on special teams.

It appears Jones wants more playing time and feels he can get it at another school.

Looks like a nice pickup, hope that he has a great career at YSU but since he plays for Hickory I will have to root against him 1 time this year when he plays my alma mater.

Poland players never pan out anyway.  They all quit when the going gets tough.  Look at the track record of thier FB players over the last 10 years.

Where did this come from?

Maybe it is time for this thread to just go away

For those of you with access to the athletic department, has any tentative date been established for an "open house" for the WATTS center, once it (finally) is completed?

Come on, they have to be close, any word yet on an open house?

The Lake Club is a golf course over in Butler County PA. We really cannot delete a post that we do not like. I do not know anything of this though. You are right, it does seem "fishy".

1AA - the lake club is located on south ave extension south of western reserve road. Owned by Muransky I believe.

Regardless, would be nice to know if this is true or not, but nice of the board to be open minded enough to let it ride for now.

So sad. Pete was a very good friend to this site as well. He wrote articles the first two years, probably back around 1990. Huge loss for everyone. What happened IP, the Vindy's on-line edition is down right now?
1AA--his cancer he had beaten a few years back came back with a vengeance. He went to the hospital about a month ago and died there today. It's a very sad day, indeed.

Sad to hear, prayers to the family.

It blows my mind that we can put a man on the moon but we can't beat the big C.

It's noteworthy because YSU is mentioned, some people may care some may not, either is fine.

I just celebrated the 24th anniversary of my 39th birthday.

Interesting, I just had had my 19th so we are rather close. I do see where we have some common ground in our thinking

Hummmm, some your last post is scary, let's just say that we look at things differently.

Just for grins, may I ask about how old you are? 20's 30's -----60's 70's 80's?

Any leader, Democrat or Republican, who promotes the outsourcing of jobs is a traitor to the United States of America.

You are 100% correct.

Miami cornerback headed to YSU

Former University of Miami cornerback Devont’a Davis will transfer to the Youngstown State football team, according to the St. Petersburg Times.

Davis, who did not return calls seeking comment, redshirted last season with the Hurricanes and will have four years of eligibility remaining. Miami fired head coach Randy Shannon in November and hired Al Golden in December.

Excellent historical analysis.  I would just add that these new Robber Barons today are unpatriotic egotists who destroy the fabric of American society by outsourcing good jobs and thus further reducing the middle cla$$.

Darn that Clinton for signing NAFTA into law!
