I bever understood why they put the penguin upside down. Maybe if the move the TV camera to the home side it will be right side up.  ;D

Why bother moving the camera all the way across the field, just turn the camera upside down and leave it where it is.

get rid of the bleachers - new scoreboard would be nice but 6 home games for that and 25-30 home games for bb and add in vb so new permanent armed chairs get my vote

Good game today.  Was a tough fought game by both squads.  In the end, your offense was too much for us.

Good luck the rest of the way.

OBC

Classy, thanks and best to you folks the rest of the year.

The most embarrassing loss in school history ...did we expect anything less?

I get it, but the CAA isn't that good.  The problem is that the Southern Conference is very weak since they lost GA Southern and App State.

Neither is YSU. its going to be a 6-5 type season at best

First of all we play 12 games.  6+5=11.  But that type of record wouldn't surpirse me.  The way I see it is we have guaranteed losses against UNI, NDSU, and SDSU (Have we ever beaten SDSU?).  That being said we would be 8-4 at best.

And we could lose to Ill State, Southern Illinois, and an improving Western Illinois.

If we lose those games we would be 5-7.

6-5, 4-8 who cares? its not going to be a good team
I predict we will be 8-4 at worst(during regular season) and if we scheduled Mount Union 8-5 :-\

Thanks for the chuckle

YSU will crush USD, the coyotes got beat 50-0 by ndsu last year.   UNI is just that bad.
You say we'll get crushed every week. We're not the same team we were last year. YSU will be doing great if they take us by more than 7.

Ill be very disappointed if we win by only 7, if SDU was worth a damn they wouldn't be 4-4
They were 1-10 last year and only lost to us by 3 @ Stambaugh--we have to keep the pedal down for the entire game--Team Choke was up on them 28-6 with 6minutes left in the 3rd qtr. and ended up losing.Let's not take them lightly and take care of business because we must take control of our destiny--with our high ranking they will be even more motivated to knock us off.

I agree,

We can win all remaining games or lose them. Have to stay focused and take one game at a time and take each one seriously.

Way too early to worry about polls!

One game at a time is enough to think about.

I have mixed thoughts about the game being televised the same night. I like it because it allows me to see the game twice, but I also believe as some have posted that it makes it too easy for the casual fan to do something else during the day, save the price of the ticket and watch the game in your favorite chair. And if we lost the game they will watch something else. My hope is that we make some money for the rights and that some people might like what they see and start coming to the game.

I could make a case for any starting time, I would just like for all of the games to be at the same time. 4:00 would be my pick, allows for travel, can get things done around the house before the game and stop for something to eat after the game.

I think that the 7:00 start has problems because of the perception of safety while being in the city after dark. I have only missed maybe 4 home games since 1974 and I have NEVER had any such problem, but I believe it would concern some.

As I recall even during the "Glory Years" we were not filling ever seat until after the 1st or 2nd NC. It is a tough, fickle crowd. If you win and win and win the "fans" will come.

Ticket prices play into it also, population in the area is shrinking and good paying jobs are scarce. Tickets, parking and concessions add up for some folks, especially when you can watch it later at home.

At some point during our 90's run it became fashionable to be at the games, it was the happening place to be. formally casual fans were hooked.

There are more students living on campus but most still commute, That second drive in seems to be a problem for them. I saw a few games while a student but did not get hooked until my last year so I can understand somewhat.

Sure wish I had a magic wand but it just is not a simple fix, I do know that butts in the seats helps the team and recruiting. Grab your friends, your kids, coworkers, etc and fill the place.

Gimme a break. Can't go to a football game at night because of safety concerns.... Campus is one of the safest places in the city... I LOVE night games

You are correct the campus is very safe, I go to night games, even stated that I have NEVER had a problem.

I have had people tell me that they do not feel comfortable getting to and from campus. mostly folks older than I and when asked, they all admitted that they have NEVER had a problem, to some perception is reality.

YSU has had a solid run of conference Players of the Week this year. It marks the seventh consecutive week that a Penguin was honored by the league for a performance.

It would seem that we have some talent on this team, go figure.

Great job guys, keep it up

It may be an understatement but man it looked like a different offense today, but they did what they had to do and got the job done. The defense let them off the hook after two great punts around the 1, not happy with the 99 yard drive, buuuut they also got the job done. It is one thing to win when all cylinders are clicking but it is also very important to wins games like we did today.

Before today, South Dakota had failed to score more than 17 points in any game, although their defense was quite good.  After our performance today, at least now we will not take them lightly in two weeks.  So UNI goes from beating Iowa State and then almost beating NDSU on the road to 0-3 and last in the conference.  That was capped off by blowing a 28-7 lead to a previously anemic offensive team.  Could not happen to a finer group of fans.

Ha Ha HA, I agreed about their fans!
