Okay it was ugly, real ugly. Offense just could not get in sync, but when it had to the offense did what it had to do, barely.

I thought that the defense looked good for the most part, the first td by RMU was a shock and that long drive that was all on the ground being the obvious exceptions.

Time will tell against other teams but we had good pressure on the qb and did not allow anything over the middle.

Kicking game needs work.

We won, so learn from it and move on.

This is an unfortunate side effect of the play-off system and it will hurt the pockets of a lot of schools including YSU.

We would be hypocrites to complain about it, once upon a time we played area D2 schools. That was the game their program looked forward to, a chance to play the big boys and make a little cash. But wait, playing these games hurt our SOS and kept us out of the play-offs. Bye bye D2 games.

No different for the real big boys playing these games do not help their SOS and god forbid they might lose one.

This is only the tip of the iceberg, shakeup has hardly begun.

YO, very true.  But...Akron needs to get people in the seats at InfoCision ASAP....and YSU would be an answer.  Pitt won't bring em next week....they apparently wont even go to a home game where a new HC is debuting.

Akron stadium will never see a YSU fan in it until they agree to play at our house, and that just ain't going to happen. They will have to find people elsewhere

Why?  Akron is an FBS team (for now), and we haven't required a home and home from any FBS team yet.

Mostly because they are not in a position to pay us the money that the real big boys can. I do not see us playing two "money" games. So unless they want to trade home games.

Hey this is simple, first game under a new coach, on the road against a higher division school and we lose by a td or so. Hey I never like to lose but I do feel good about the program at this point

Boy are you guys tough on our kids!  My take on this was we played great,  Played hard to the very end, (which didn't happen under Wolford) and we got beat by a better team.  Pitt was stronger inside, bigger and faster outside.  They couldn't stop Stubbs last time we played, couldn't stop him this time either.  They also couldn't stop Webb.  They are going to give up a LOT of points to D-1 schools.  Somebody ripped me Friday for complementing the 2 deep depth chart because they were all Wolford's recruits, but the Pelini guys made huge impacts yesterday.  Alexander, the linebackers etc.  Bodes well going forward.  We lost, but we showed toughness and heart and aggression.  MUCH more GOOD than bad IMO!

We need them to win.  Let them get a conference loss.  We don't want any OOC losses when playoff selections are made.

Hey I did not want either one to win, but since someone had too I am ok with how it played out. They are still going to get a conference loss.

So we can safely say that at this point in the season the buffaloes have the worst record in 1AA.

I expected this.  I would hope that our conference, and every FCS conference, simply passes a bylaw that prohibits such stipends.  If NDSU wants to mimic the big boys, let them join the illustrious Sun Belt or some other lowly G5 conference.  For us, those FCOA basketball scholarships are bad enough.  We cannot afford to include football.  No other school in the MVFC can afford it either, despite what some of their ill-informed fans might state on message boards.

It has to do with the number of national titles. I enjoy being #1 active (GA Southern is now IA) and #2 overall. Now, because of a bonehead play by ILS in the championship, we are tied with NDSU for #1 and #2. Since we are unable to keep NDSU out of the post-season on our own (with their recent history, it will take 4-losses at a minimum to keep them out), I have to hope for others to do it for us.

You guys are being a just a bit too harsh. I get the Dispatch and the Vindy. If a local player was playing at a Big-6 college, he would have good Dispatch coverage. Probably not if he attended YSU or Kent. I do not see any agenda here.

Most folks may like them but I hate fireworks, glad they stopped them.
