YSU Penguin Athletics / Re: Ed Muransky

Bobby Hannon said at yesterday's Curbstone Coaches' meeting that Ed will not be joining him in the radio booth this fall.  Any former assistant coaches or players in the area that would make a good replacement?

ME!

You would be a great color guy becuase it seems that you know a lot about a lot of people in the community, afootball, and also what is going on with the football team.

Not sure how all the slurring would go over with the crowd when doing the radio show after tailgating. :P

Then again, the Browns use Bernie and he sounds drunk all the time.

LOL,  Well let's get a petition drive going that we dedicated YSU fans and tailgaters want REPRESENTATION in the booth or on the sideline.  I am pretty sure I can do 700% better than the kid on the field now.

I agree with Wick and Guinpen and disagree with both of you.  The best of the FCS is equal to the best of the MAC.  The worst of the FCS is not as good as the worst team in the MAC.  The MVFC is a beteer conference than the MAC top to bottom.  If every MVFC team played every MAC team the MVFC would have a better record.

What Mangino can also help with is winning without as much talent, which isn't an issue here, but something he proved at Kansas.  He was a successful head coach at Kansas and he can help us out significantly here.  This is a fantastic hire.

Why didn't Summlin take him with him?  I hope he isn't a retread if you know what I'm saying.

He will have a better shot at going pro if he plays here.

Tress always took an excess of quarterbacks.

The SEC will take just about anyone, but I would suspect that he doesn't have the grades to go anywhere else.

we just beat them last year...at there place....

Watching them in the playoffs only shows me how far away we are from winning a National Championship and is disgusts me.  At this point I have learned something new....It doesn't matter if you have the best athletes becuase a football player is one that has the insticnts and football sense.  In the end you need to have football players, and great coaching and then athletes in that order.  Coaches don't have the time to teach football instincts at this level, it all starts with recruiting a real football player  They must arrive with a football I.Q. and then have great coaching to become a great team.  Then the athleticism becomes a factor where it all comes together.

We have lacked in players and coaching thus far.  Hopefully Wolford can get it figured out.  We are miles and miles away from NDSU's ability to show consistent performance and rise to every challenge that the other team provides.

This is Logan. He is 3-months old, and sporting his Penguin onesie. A little small, I have to take it back to the bookstore. The football is signed by all of the coaches from early 1990's ...I neglected to put a year on it. Santa also brought him a Penguin Jersey "Y" on the front #7 on the back. I am hoping to show him off on August 31!!

Grand baby I take it!  You are training him well.  I did the same with mine, and both love YSU now!

Buff and Stoops are good friends.

I love the coaching business.

Reminds me of the Godfather Movie.  Merry Christmas BTW!

Wonder if he will go back to Wisky.  The badgers need a coach
