You're telling me we can't find a 6-9 , or 6-10 JC player somewhere to play here. Bull!   Then don't complain when we end up back at the bottom of the league, and everyone in the league is jumping over our 6-7 forwards for lay-up after lay-up, and inside put backs.  Slocum is just not aggressively seeking them.  You tell me how Valpo, Wright and Green Bay end up with them year after year.  We can only hope Larson and Chojnacki get their act together soon.  Yea! I know our program is down, but don't tell me we can't find be men.

LOL what a tool
yes im telling you we CANT and WONT find them, our basketball program is one of the WORST in D-1 thats why those other schools get the players and we WONT.

deal with it! end of story!

how long is it going to take people to figure out that 7 footers who arent talented enough to play anywere but YSU dont grow on tree's? honestly.  according to scout only 12 kids in their database measured 6'10 or taller, the worst school any of them is going to is Houston.

6'10 kids or taller just dont end up at schools at YSU for 2 reasons

1-we suck and have a history of suck
2-alot of bigger more talented schools give them the scholarship just to take the chance that the kid is actually decent

YSU aint bringing in no big time recruits without a NC apperance, just how the world will forever work

it was best for all parties involved.  she had a bit of trouble balancing Grades and College Basketball from what i was told. her Grades werent that bad just not up to her apparent standards

Mentor Viking,

Stay in Mentor if you don't support the team.  You're posts are critical and ridiculous.

PP

except for the fact i support the team, but i dont need to support the entitled assclowns like Zaborsky
i have EVERY legal right to be critical on a message board, thats the whole reason they were created, to talk, good or bad, about any topic. and its not ridiculous when its stating facts.

True or not about what you claim, what is the point in running down a player?
Maybe we, as fans, should learn what it means to be a team also
and support the Penguins.

the point is the kid is an asshat reguardless if he plays for YSU or not.

Interesting info from the post-camp yesterday:

-Coach is very happy with Zaborsky ...Main very happy Zaborsky as well. He was told to put on weight & is now 22lbs heavier & actually faster that he was. Very exciting to see that level of commitment.

that kids such an asshat. heard from one of former HS teammates last year that he showed up the first day of camp, acted like he was entitled and once called himself the greatest football player to ever step on the field at YSU one day when a player questioned his work ethic.

Not so much outcoached as out played.  Sullinger said it best, "They seemed like they wanted it more."

Doesn't that have something to do with coaching?

nope

Kansas got some bad calls too, they were the better team.  OSU was out coached once again

Please post your thoughts on HOW they got outcoached.    I would like to weigh your comments and then respond.

Also please let me know HOW you think Kansas is the better team?  I have some serious comments to make about that also.

Kansas is 2-0 against OSU this year.  I'd say that makes them the better team

1-0*

Ohio St was the FAR better team, Kansas just had the refs in their back pocket, just stating facts

nah, 100% inaccurate post

funny how Aaron Craft just happends to magically fall to the ground on all his layups now huh? Withey should have fouled out with around 8 minutes to go.  T-Rob hacked Sully just about every time he touched it. Oh well, what an easy blowout win thats going to be for UK tomorrow

We must have been watching different games.  You're obviously an OSU fan and appear to have sour grapes.  Craft hand checks and makes contact every time he defends someone and gets away with it. Matta was out coached and his team choked big time in the second half

100% wrong on all accounts
its ok everybody knows the refs were in heavy favor for Kansas, you should probably post less since your just here to troll

Hess' interceptions are not a concern since they did not happen.  He was 10 out of 15 with a td and no interceptions.  Angle was picked off twice, Nania once.  This comes from the official stats on the university website.

Last spring, it was hard to evaluate the defense since the offense had holes in the line and at wide receiver and their potency was unknown.  This spring, with virtually all the players back from the best offense in FCS (based on their performance against the NDSU defense that completely shut down supposedly unstoppable offenses from Sam Houston and Georgia Southern) we will be able to detect progress from the defense if they can just limit offensive productivity.  Actually, even if the defense can not stop this offense, they might still be improved enough.  Our offense is just that good.

being that they showed him throw at least 1 INT then id say the university website is wrong.

This isnt going to be touched on? oh ok then....

Hess had 4-5 Ints according to WKBN when they recaped the scrimmage, thats not a concern to anybody for as bad as our DBs looked last year?

should rather get Shaheed Davis from Warren Harding
6'8 PF with a 7'2 Wingspan and has very good shooting abillity from inside, mid range, and 3 point range.

Shaheed Davis | 6-8 | PF | Ohio Basketball Club 16U | 2012
Completely unknown nationally, Davis made his presence felt in a big way in the 16U bracket at Spiece. Big enough to play the 4 and athletic enough to play the 3, he created a number of mismatches all over the court en route to taking his team to the 16U championship game. Shaheed still lacks some polish, but his upside should land him a spot in the top 100 sometime soon.

He's already committed to Duquesne

he de-committed last weekend, has been looking around since he got a few new offers

The problem with Youngstown sports culture is that tribal attitudes formed in the high schools last for a lifetime.  Enough already.  Is it too much to ask that you refrain from such tribal in-fighting on a college board?

Pizza, stop with this Mooney glorification and stop bashing other high schools.  And as a Mooney graduate, I have a perfect right to tell you that.  You belittle our alma mater with such childish behavior.  Successful people and successful institutions have no need whatsoever to brag about themselves.

I "read" with great interest your post. I, as a YSU fan ....will always follow the passion....to help YSU.

My question, then... can only be......name me a better High School ....both academically, and athletically......than Mooney or Ursuline?

And the decision between Mooney and Ursuline at this point in time in Y-Towns history ......is obvious.

Ignoring the "obvious" doesn't make "IT" go away.

The "truth" is the "Mother of Hatred".....

ill take Austintown, Canfield and Poland over Mooney and Ursuline everyday of the week and twice on sunday
