I'm looking for a close game on Saturday. Duquesne gave Buffalo a run for their money and Buffalo is a top MAC football team. They kept it close with us last year until about late in the 3rd qtr. I really want to see improvement from Nania and the passing game but who knows. Here's to hoping our defense can continue on the good fortune they had last week...

Jimmie Kitchen, a DL has transferred from Georgia Tech to us. He was suspended indefinitely by the Yellow Jackets, reason unknown. He played sparingly and battled injuries his 3 years at Georgia Tech. Listed at 6-3, 270.

Boardman senior LB Evan Croutch has committed to YSU today per his twitter account. Listed at 6-1, 220 pounds. Also had an offers from Slippery Rock, Duquesne and from University of Buffalo. Good to have another local pickup.

Nate Dortch, a DB has transferred to YSU from Miami (FL). Seems like a pretty good pickup to along with the kid from South Florida. Will be interesting to see who the starters are coming out of camp.

Good amount of players are gone per joe scalzo: Some notables are Vince Coleman left due to some family issues and won't return which hurts because he's a starter. Terry Johnson, Parnell Taylor... Also Marcel Caver due to student aid issue which hurts because he was in the rotation at WR. 13 players all together are gone.

LaRon Taylor, a LB from University of Iowa is transferring to YSU per his twitter account. He's listed at 6-0, 220 pounds. Redshirted in 2012 and saw no action in 2013. Hopefully he can come in and contribute. Should have 3 years of eligibility left.

Gone as well from the basketball program. Just signed with Butler CC.... Had high hopes for this kid, oh well best of luck!



Ex-Youngstown State F Kyle Steward (6-7/190) has signed with Butler CC. 1.9 ppg/1.4 rpg as FR. 14 ppg/8 rpg/3 apg as SR at Cass Tech (MI).

Kenneth Darden, a 6-0 cornerback from South Florida is transferring to YSU and will be eligible this year and have two years of eligibility left. Darden started 11 out of 12 games last year but was arrested in January for possession of marijuana. Should help our DB depth if he can keep his head on straight!
