Know B Ross well. A standout kid! A great kid. Worked hard. A "yes sir" "no sir guy".......and he wasn't one of those who "faked it".....there are a lot of those who just played the game.....(all the while having distrust and anger in their eyes".

Coach Wolf has removed most of those types.....which is why some of you naysayers......need to give Coach Wolf and his group......."time".

B Ross deserves everything good coming to him IMO.

If this is true, then why not move him to the defensive backfield?  We need speed and physical presence there.  He may have been a decent corner or SS?  No?  what am I missing here?

I would guess he wants to play running back?

Understood. And I'd like to be 6'4" and have Gizzelle Bunchen as my wife.

But we can't always have what we want.

I wish him the best though.

A great young lady who got dealt a bad hand. And she worked her a-zz off to overcome it. A disappointing ending to what could have been, but a quality athlete who gave everything she could in a difficult role.

I am slowing losing my respect for some of the people who post on here. I've quietly read over the last two years your comments, some were good..... some were bad, most seemed well thought out.  And most were knowledgeable. YSU fans know football.......at least most of them do.

But I will humbly tell you folks, if you don't know where the Lake Club is.....if you don't know Ed Muransky (Mooney) owns it, if you don't know he made a "cow field" into a beautiful track......if you don't know he has donated his cash to the Poland Library and the Poland HS program.........and if you don't know of some very good athletes who have worked their butts off from Poland like Bill Duggan and Gannon Hulea.....(great kids all).....than IMHO.....you shouldn't be posting on here. Because you do not know of what you speak.

No disrespect intended....but the people I've mentioned above have made an impact and contributed greatly to the YSU program. And they have done it the proper way.

When we aggressively attain and dilgently maintain the tradition of people and athletes who CARE about this great program locally, which Coach Wolf is actively doing, than we are on the right track.

That's just my humble ......AND INFORMED......opinion.

If you care about this program......you don't post unsubstantiated rumors.

Nobody wins by doing that. The bell can't be "unrung".

What do any of you think about a mini-tailgate on one of the Saturday or Sunday practices or scrimmages?

Great idea....get people out in the sunshine having fun. Went to a local HS practice and ran into some buddies I haven't seen in a while. We made an evening of it and had a great time together. We made plans for the HS season...extra tickets will be purchased because of that which will benefit the school.

No reason it can't happen for the guins'. But the 1st event must be spectacular.....to bring folks back.

Cook is a good kid. Has done everything right so far. A good student in a difficult major. Responsible.

His issue these next few years is not getting a "big Head"......and I don't mean size wise.....LOL

If he plays his cards right the next few years....he could do some great things......Be a team Guy.....Jamaine, and be humble......

As legendary Coach Reno at Steubenville HS has always said. "There are those that are humble........and there are THOSE, who are about to BE HUMBLED!!! You must prove yourself everyday.

Best of luck to the loaded backfield at YSU. Their has been some great recruiting done over the last 2 years. Lot's of competition for our guy from Midpark HS. The Y-Town HS RB's are on your heels....Cook will have to prove himself again this year. Tons of talent waiting in the wings.

Good Luck Jamaine.....you've earned the pre-season "ink"......now follow thru with a great season.

I guess the lesson upper level 1-AA  programs  like YSU tells these kids is........get your "head out of your A-ss". Here's your last best chance. You can still get to the "League" ...by playing well at YSU.

Just look at Donald Jones (Buffalo Bills). Donald did everything right when he came here. I witnessed it.

Come to YSU....ball.....win a title or two....and you'll get your shot in the "League".

Hi Guys,

I'm new here. Been reading comments for a long time. I've been close to the program for the past 4-5 years or so. I was born and raised here. Followed the program for a long time, 20-30 years. The ups and downs.

Coach Heacock gave his heart and soul to this program. We all respect his efforts. He was / is a great man. And always will be, based on my opinion.

And let me tell you, Coach Wolf is too! I get tired of the "few" naysayers about his first season. Most intelligent football folks understood what happened.

Our Guins' were 5 minutes away from being a 7-4, 8-3, 9-2 team last year. It was obvious to see if you understand football. Our guys didn't have the depth we needed last year. (the typical first year purging of the bad apples). That "purging" cost us a game or three last year...we lost great players....who were bad apples). But it was expected and was needed. Wake up followers.....this is how a program is built!!!

That has been taken care of this year. Coach Wolf has filled those slots with guys that want to play and CAN play at that D1 level. It may take another year or two.....give the man and the program time.

For the faithful....in the next 1-3 years...the HS kids' "THINKING ABOUT" coming to YSU, to win a National Title...well, IMO it could/should/ will happen. Why you ask? Because I know what they have in the pipeline......it's a real possibility. It could happen anytime....get on board!!!!!! Coach Wolf and  his staff are stacking it up!

Let's welcome the recruiting efforts of our staff. And welcome our new players who need to find a home. That's an unbeatable combination. Good things, real good things are happening at YSU football.
