I saw alot of good posts on this thread.  I hope JT and the powers to be take a long hard look on what they can do to increase attendance. I agree the league doesnt energize the fan base.   I agree the marketing department doesnt market the athletic teams very well.  I agree this is a High school football area.  It just makes me sad I love my school, It has given me opportunities  after I graduated and I have stayed and believe in the Valley...I love tailgating...I guess I am a fool to feel this way.

I wasnt bullying anybody...but saw lots of excuses.  This is my Ohio State.  I went away to school here.  Did I want to get up at 6 am to tailgate no .but i did ...was the weather bad...yes...but you dress for the weather and show up...i didnt get wet...actually had fun..the same negative people on here and this area...have become excuse makers not doers...its your team your college...step up...

We got the job done.. The punt was the deal breaker...O line did a great job..football is about the guys up front...this week we won that battle on both sides. Wolford got a big W...Wells made alot of major league throws..showed some improvement with adjusting to the pass rush..but like i said the boys up front on both sides won this battle

Tidwell was a game manager wasnt that fast when  we would run any option with him it looked like he was in slow motion.  WE used to joke all the time that he was the slowest option QB in college football.  But he had a magical Senior season rarely made a mistake and led us to a title. Cochran was the best pure passer we have had under JT.  The offense was not a fit for him.  Ray was the true option QB ...he was a mediocre passer but when the game was on the line he found a way to win.

That D3 qb played 10 yrs of professional Football in one form or other and probably a better QB than you think..I have said before that the YSU coaching staff in their opinion said this kid is special.  If that kid was 25 Lbs heavier he wouldnt be here..I watched the replay after attending the game ...the kid is a gunslinger.  Lets hope we can protect him and build the O to his strengths.  I watched our young line do a good job and we forget we are only starting 3 or 4 Seniors. We are not far from being good.

My point is he was passed over because he makes lots of mistakes ( fumbles, INTs and doesn't handle pressure well). Montgomery is keeping him on a short leash with simple short throws. The league will catch on to that, take it away and YSU will be done with a QB who is no longer a threat. Enjoy the win. Yep he is strictly a passing QB and when they jump on that............................

Hunter is a power offense qb. Not a read oprion sissy.  He made some excelent throws today. They were outstanding.   How can you spew this crap? He is waaaaaaay better than Hess or any other qb we've had in the last 20 yrs.  And he is only a freshman.   What kind of crack are you smoking?   He is fantastic.  He put the ball where nobody could get to it on multiple throws

I think Pally you full of crap. Our offense is based on short throws..Hess couldn't throw a long ball never looked off a reciever..Wells had thrown more long balls in 7 games than Hess did in 4 yrs...Hess was an average system QB.  As for why the Big Schools backed off who gives a sh** their loss..the kid dominated his last 2 yrs and to belittle Stark County football shows your stupidity. .you said that Hunter had no arm strength. ..he DOES.. we didn't get lucky today thats another bullsh** lie...WE Were the Better team...He led them and got the W...not bad for a weak skinny armed mistake prone QB.

I was present at the game and this kid made all the throws. He is the real deal ..I know our resident talent guru disagrees I have seen alot of football in my life and YSU got a good one.  He makes everybody better on offense and he showed poise today as well.

I don't think we were as bad as we played according to Wolford we have been the least penalized team in conference the past 2 years.  Still dont understand the targeting rule especially in kickoffs how can the refs make that call ...dont get it...The Conference seriously needs to upgrade the officials ..it seemed at times they had not ever worked together.  This game will be a wake up call for us..we will either step up and play our asses of or muddle through the rest of the conference.   The talent is there we have a coaching staff that needs to lead and coach up our talent.  We will never again have that wonderful 90's championship run.  I don't think we should expect that but I do expect a team that plays hard and plays disciplined. We need make it a priorty that when a team comes to our house they know it is going to be THE HARDEST HITTING GAME ON their schedule.  Till that happens we will never be a threat to won our conference.

We played a sloppy game.  Sloppy play, Sloppy Coaching..sloppy attendance...sloppy referees. .but this Coaching staff has consistently laid an egg when it needed to step up.  I am not going to agree with Pally assessment that we have a problem on the lines or at QB...this team has talent..but it isnt getting coached up...

We were the better team and I have seen this before..to be disappointed the next game.  We were what 8 -1 last year and didnt get it done.  We still have some holes in the secondary and I think a better D exposes our QB...and we have had 2  punts blocked. Our punter takes forever to get it away...But I think we are getting better just not sure where that puts us at the end of the season.

I will agree that we get dissed during playoff discussions but this has happened year in year out...those committee people don't see it our way.  Thats another thread about how our commish doesnt get it done.

Being in the best conference means nothing to me if we are not in the upper tier and making the playoffs FCS is a joke on how they select the teams for the playoffs.  Butler made the playoffs don't know if they offer scholarships and spend way less than we do for football than we do and they get in crappy conference and all.  So in my eyes being in this conference means nothing.  Its about making the playoffs not looking at who u play the first 3 games ...win the league and then we can have this discussion.

We need to have more night games, with youth soccer, football and everything else being played you are not getting those kids and families. The game has to become an event to get the casual fan...the night games help that. Our marketing department is deadweight. Winning would help and this area is notorious for only rooting for winners due to being in between 2 markets.
