YSU Penguin Athletics / Re: HUNTER WELLS
« on: October 29, 2016, 12:15:17 AM »
So if Davis lied to his coaches about having a concussion isn't that kinda hurting the team.  Sometimes being a leader you have to do the right thing.  I am not  giving him a mulligan for that or for any injury.  Wells got his head beat in at Pitt didn't he. If I as a coach base everything on performance and execution Ricky needs to be benched.  51% is not getting it done.  Since we started this experiment our offense scores 1 less TD a game.  We saw this with Dante Nania.  Time to move on and let's hope Wells can do it.

If Davis lied to his coaches what does that say about our medical team?  Every player in every sport has to take a pre-test which are part of the concussion diagnosis.  It is not the coaches decision to determine a concussion.  He is a football coach and not a medical expert, so why would they take the word of a young man fighting to keep his position?

We have been told too many times to count that it isn't Monty's fault and that he is an offensive genius beyond his years.  Why are there so many complainers?  Remember, not even Big Ben could run this offense.
I wish one day we could recruit the players that it would take to be able to run that offense.  The Penguins would blow everyone out of the stadium.

OK....Now Go Guins!

Do not like the idea of all red, reminds me of Boog Powell when he was with the Tribe, "A Big Martini"

You old geezer!
I saw Boog steal 2nd his last year as an Indian.  If that would have been football, the time would have expired before he got there.

GO GUINS!

Saw Kurt Hess on campus today but didn't talk football.  Fine young man.

Well Guinpen, I thought we had a solution.
Blame the people who follow Ohio State.  Blame the people that follow N.D.
Blame the uneducated football people that follow high school football to re-live their glory days.
Just don't hold anyone accountable for putting out an inferior product.  Heck, we might even be able to get government subsidies for doing such.

OK, sarcasm aside - you have a very valid point.
I know JT reads his mail as I have gotten replies.  The rest...who knows?

The new(est) administration at Akron may change things in the near future.  The foundation may fund the football program, but there is a lot of faculty willing to ruffle feathers whether it is their business or not.

But first we have R.M. to play so to keep the focus....GO GUINS!

After watching the game a second time, I don't think our receivers ran very sharp routes with the exception of the TE's.  Not sure any of the QB's could overcome that.  Ricky had time to throw, but they kept a spy on him to cover the run.
Any word on Hunter's shoulder or Brock's foot?

You guys are being totally unrealistic. ;D  How could the Vindicator devote any space to something as irrelevant as YSU football when there is so much vital local stuff to cover: little league baseball and softball, that stupid amateur golf tournament, or shilling for a west coast professional football team.

Seriously, newspapers are dying.  They will be gone within the decade.  YSU information will come exclusively from these new forms of social media that I neither use nor understand.

Well Wick, nothing generates interest and excitement about a football team like not knowing they exist.  Do they make camo in YSU colors?  That should be the new uniforms so they can continue to remain un-noticed.

I don't think we need another pansy team if there is a 12 game schedule as I am not convinced they have done anything to help us in the past.  Woody Hayes used to say this about playing Rice - at the time the smallest Div. I college.  "If you beat them like you should, you're a bully.  If you don't beat them by enough, you stink!  Heaven help you if you would ever lose!  The only thing that you have to look forward to in a game like that in injuries!"

They probably read about that on our website.

One thing about Ohio State, they don't have a clue what is going on - unlike YSU that knows everything.

Hess threw a pick 6 in the Fargodome that I thought changed him as a player.

Nation, not that it changes anything, but that pick 6 Hess threw came the next play after he took a hit to the head out of bounds.  I don't think he was in any shape to come back in, but as people say: "he is a baller"
That time the results were disastrous.  BTW - Kurt is back on campus working on his Master's degree.  Great for him!

OK - enough!
I am really excited about what they can do with the media area.  Long time coming!

Sorry ScarletRock, umbrella's are not permitted in the stadium

...and they enforce that rule quite well I saw (or not).

Umbrella's?

I doubt it is a bigger student section.
