Ytown girl ~ your comment about Bo was told to retain him shows just how clueless you really are!!! Do you know Bo Pelini???? Do you honestly think he really cares if someone told him to retain Montgomery?! Bo always has and always will make his own decisions. The people that don't think he is a good coach are a few football board posters that have never coached a down of college football! If Bo Pelini thinks he is good enough to keep then he must be. Again, tell me what you would have done other than "run a bigger back?"  We definitely missed Ruiz in this game but it doesn't matter who you have at RB if the o line is struggling! Again... tell me another team in the country that played 4 QB's and went as far as YSU?
Let's trust Bo with the decisions ~ he seems to know football!

Ytown Girl - I can tell you with 100% certainty that Montgomery has had better offers almost every year he has been here. I know his family pretty well and this is a fact. His family loves the area and his oldest son is a freshman on the YSU baseball team. His younger son is a junior in high school and they did not want to move during his high school years unless it was just something amazing. I look for him to be gone for sure after his younger son graduates.
Also - not sure where all the hatred from you towards Montgomery stems from... this offense OVER performed this year. Find me another team in the country that played 4 quarterbacks and went as far as us. We really missed the 4 suspended starters in the JMU game but our players and coaches never quit. For those of you questioning his game time adjustments, I am not sure what else you wanted him to do. Wells threw to 10 different receivers. After it was obvious that the running game was not going to work, the coaches found other ways to get Jody the ball and he had 10 catches himself. What else would you have tried?
Nobody is more upset about not winning that game on Saturday than the people in that locker room but this fan base needs to realize how much this team achieved this year and be proud of them all.

YSU Penguin Athletics / Re: Frisco tickets. .

It still makes no sense and we can't be getting the right story... So the other 6 teams (NDSU, Wofford, Eastern Washington, SHSU etc) all guaranteed and paid for up to 4K tickets for each school? Let's say those 6 teams committed to selling 2k tickets. That's 12,000 tickets at $75 each which comes to $900,000!! What in the hell is the NCAA doing with that money? This is a low estimate because I would assume most schools would commit to the 4K tickets. I just don't believe that the other schools that are not in the championship game are having to pay for the tickets. I call BS on this one!

That makes no sense at all... Why would we have to pay for 1000 tickets if we don't make it to the championship game? Does that mean the other 6 teams that were in the quarterfinals and put in their bid for tickets are paying for tickets? If that is the case then someone needs to investigate the NCAA because that is the biggest rip off I have ever heard of!

I know Nathan Mays and I can tell you with 100% certainty that he is playing today and did not fail a drug test! The media needs to support YSU and not print rumors!!!

Nation - you really need to find something in your life that makes you happy and stop hating on 19-22 year old kids!! Hunter Wells is our QB and we are in the final four!! That should make everyone happy. He was granted his release and did not dress or travel because he had a shoulder injury. He had an MRI the week before he starting playing. Just wondering... how far did you take your team when you were the QB?

Abc123abc - why would you post their names??? There are Eastern Washington people on this board!!! Why would you want their fans, players and coaches to know who is out. If you are a true YSU fan and really want us to win delete your post asap!!! That is assuming you even have the right names!

I don't think Montgomery's kid has any interest in playing college football. He wants to play baseball and was offered a spot on the YSU baseball team but he is weighing his options.

Instead of complaining about Wells, Montgomery, defense etc, we need to spend our energy calling the MVFC and complaining about the refs hatred for YSU! Unbelievable!

I'm sure somehow one of you will blame that missed sack turned into a touchdown on Wells or Montgomery!

penguin power - I didn't mean I don't know what you want. I know you have supported the decision to start Wells. I just meant if you go back and read all the posts there isn't a coach in America that could please this crew! Unless we were 10-0 😉

I am not going to argue back and forth with any of you on whose fault it was/is. Like I said before football is a team sport and it takes a team effort to win every game. It is so easy for all of you to say what you would or wouldn't do but have you ever taken a snap at quarterback? Have you ever had 40 seconds to decide in the crucial part of the game whether you are going to blitz or stay back in coverage? It is not as easy as it looks. This team is playing with a lot of heart and they have a leader and a coaching staff that they believe in. Good things are coming to them all.

Ed clearly states "is it play calling or execution?" If #9 catches that long pass it is a TD and we are not having this conversation. However, there are a lot of plays in a football game and it is a team sport.

I can not figure out what you all want the offense to do. One week you are asking for Ricky Davis because Hunter Wells sucks. You are begging to let Ricky throw the ball. When he does you complain that Hunter should have been in throwing it. You want Tressel ball but when we run the ball you complain. This was a hard fought game by both teams and the officials decided it. With all of our offensive line issues I am very impressed how the guys up front did yesterday! They played toe to toe with NDSU and those guys were huge!

We are a few plays away from being 8-2! Yesterday we had dropped passes, blown coverage and bad bad special team play and still had a chance to win at the end. Football is a team sport and this loss is on the team (coaches and players) They will bounce back because they have a lot more character than many of you on this board!
