Been awhile since I've posted, what have I missed? Remember when we had the opportunity to bring back Montgomery as H.C. and failed to do so? He was your guy to clean up Bo's mess and produce decent coaching across the board. What I'm watching out their is equivalent to dads coaching pee wee football in the fall !! Best of luck to Mark Waid IMO he was the best QB on the roster

https://n.rivals.com/content/prospects/2021/marquael-parks-235122 YSU offers Marquael Parks, would be fun to see him lined up as a slot receiver with Crenshaw on the field!

Well if we were able to get Tariq here with 7 other Mac offers surely we could of got some of those players if we just threw a offer out. I consider Tariq a upper FBS player the others were probably between upper FCS lower level FBS talent. Just the type of kids we need here to compete in the MVC. Not sure who did the recruiting here , but it was just a disaster. To many lower level FCS and upper D2 players coming in if you ask me . I have total faith that Phillips will get the recruiting fixed around here. Not sure what's really in it for the MAC players other then jumping on a plane and playing in front of 3 large crowds a year that's the only thing I can think of

Kent St signed 5 players within a 40 mile radius of their campus. Out of those 5 players none were offered by YSU

https://ekusports.com/sports/football/roster/coaches/troy-rothenbuhler/1194 Information on the offensive coordinator..as Wick pointed out earlier there are definitely connections here..I felt there was a reason Peterson was retained

I saw the presser.  I like him.
Probably the best I have felt about a coach in a long time. Most importantly I could see players wanting to come to YSU and play for him. Pelini has left him with major holes to fill,  thinking he can be successful with juco and transfers this offseason. Hopefully he can put a quality staff together and the team can head into spring practice on a high note. We have nothing to lose, but everything to gain here

Wick, as the running backs coach at Cincinnati Phillips was a huge reason why Ethan Wright from Manchester flipped his verbal late and signed with the Bearcats. Phillips was also Targeting Jr. Marquael Parks from Orrville. Parks has some issues to work out, but if Phillips can some how bring him to Youngstown watch out!

With you Go guins Mark is a great athlete and most importantly a great kid. This has to be an emotional rollercoaster for him right about now. Obviously would never turn away talent like Crenshaw, but this is where our recruiting department really failed. You Bring in a guy like  waid and label him as your centerpiece and work really hard to get him , then the following  year you offer another quarterback  when you should be offering quality lineman and ammunition for your centerpiece.  This was always a big issue of mine with Bo. Wasted  Scholarships everywhere you looked . I really feel Phillips will be a huge improvement in this area

Looking at his Twitter page he has done nothing but boost the Cincinnati program the last few days including today. Did the team actually meet with the Hoban coach last night and was this whole thing with Phillips put together today in just a few short hours?

Go..the only way I could see us keeping both is if Crenshaw was turned into a full time tailback. He could be the most dominant force at that position the Missouri conference has ever seen. But at the same token he is one hell of a passer..just a pure baller

Crenshaw has signed.  It was posted on the YSU Football Twitter account.  We can all relax a little now.

Yep it's official. Should be interesting how the QB room will play out.
Very interesting Chief..Great get by the Guins was a little worried when Bo left that he might back out of his verbal but luck was on our side all the teams that offered him had signed their quarterbacks by then. Its anyone's guess on how this might play out, could always line him up at the tailback position with Waid on occasion if he's not at quarterback That would give the defenses something to think about. Bottom line is your going to have to keep this kid happy because I think he expects to play right away would hate to see him transfer out to FBS after a year
