I suggested a few years ago. We either need to drop down in division or go into a different conference like NEC and become the big fish in the conference, kinda like Mount Union is where they make the playoffs every year and people like winners and help build a base it’s either that or go up division but stay where we’re at does nothing to enhance or improve the fanbase, etc., some of you think Staying in the conference it’s such a great thing because it’s a toughest one in FCS.    But that only works if you’re a big winner and have rivalry which we have either, it’s destroyed everything that was accomplished 30 years ago. Yes, I said 30 years ago we will become a irevelant Not just nationally but locally.  It’s time to have a vision instead of staying with the status quo.

Due to lack of real funding to have a Competitive program.  I love baseball but maybe it needs to be shut down.  Use the money to start a different mens sport.

What’s IRRELEVANT is FCS Football.  What’s Irrelevant is what has happened to the football program playing in a conference that the best we will ever finish is 3rd and once every 10 years maybe 2nd.  We either need to step up or drop down.  Staying where we are only destroys what little fan base we have.

We are  not 12th in NIL.  I looked it up.  We are near the bottom for athletic budget for all sports for D1.  I don’t know what that writer was referencing.

I keep saying this FCS is going to be a hard sell to the  fans and  future recruits.  I know some on the board have predicted the demise of the Mac and Akron and Kent for years and it it Hasn’t happened. Why because football still pay the bills. Most of those programs play 2 money games a year.  They have all survived.  we have seen different schools move up that we played Marshall, Appy St, Boise State, Jacksonville State, Georgia Southern etc.  It seems to work for them and none of them miss FCS.  I keep beating adead horse nobody cares about FCS.  TV doesn’t care the media doesn’t care and the fans don’t care.  I guess we missed our chance Years ago when we had Mickey monus as the booster snd all the phar mor money   It’s going to take money, and I feel the powers to be are not capable to finding that. The present. AD in interviews says he’s content where we’re at.  so there you have it.  Till he retires nothing will change.  I agree our stadium is not five star.  We have fallen behind times in that.  Oh well, it’s fun to dream.

Here’s more Missouri St also figured the topfootball teams in conference are probably as good the Dakotas and feel they will be able to compete plus a donor is giving 5 million etc.

I have said this before if we stay where we are at it’s a money loser and with NIL program development and building is screwed because the big schools will poach our players.  Rocky times ahead

Like I said with NIL, the transfer rules, it will be tough to keep core guys. In this case their was a YSU connection at Michigan a with our lack of established QB it truly does make sense.

You might be right but whoever and if the splinter off someone will take a chance it if they decide to leave.  FCS is shown on tv like you said but hell the championship game was going against the NFL on a Sunday Afternoon.  Whoopee!  My guess is the big schools want this and if tv an do this package this on a Saturday with FCS ax the first game G5 as the second game and then the big school at night.  Make it an event.  But like I said FCS is going to be destroyed if NIL and the portal stays the way it is.

Well if you feel there won’t be no interest then FCS will be even more irrelevant than it is already.  It’s about more $$$ and the G5 want a bigger cut.  My guess they might get it.  Our level between if that happens and NIL and the transfer portal is a mess and will get worse.

Murray St had a new good since Dean Hood left to take a position at Kentucky. So lots of turnover was expected

If you read the Vindy article it seems between the lines Phillips wants Shannon to be the guy.  Again is he? Accuracy quick decision making is what’s needed in aD1 QB.  A good coach builds around a players strength. My guess is the Springfield Kid has that more than the others.  Do we need another Crenshaw experience.  I feel this is where Phillips fails in not seeing what’s right in front of him.  This team right now lacks a true chunk play game breaker.  I see a sub 500 record this coming year especially in conference.  This year we will need his best coaching job ever.  When you had the influx of transfers D leave after he said maybe our scheme was too complicated? Not all were told to leave.  They know what’s up and next year is a rebuild.  Depth means a lot if you have horses to win it.  We don’t have those game changing horses right now.  Think about it we have had to go to there’s transfer portal for RBs and our number 1 receiver.  What happened about the off field incident with tbe transfer WR and he was with other players.  Where’s the media for that?

Sound like we could be in for a tough year on D.  Basically starting from scratch. So your depth guys are starters and now your depth is gone due to transfers.  Not a good sign
