Maybe when Tressel is at Stambaugh in a few weeks he can tell Wolford 6 isnt always better than 3.  Mark my words this guy will lose a critical game by not taking the points.  He is a hard head.  I know the game has evolved but Tressel and Paterno won a lot of games kicking field goals.....

YSU Penguin Athletics / SportsNetwork Ranking

These pollsters are unreal... The following teams lost and moved UP this weekend:

JMU
Villanova
Wofford
Lehigh

Anyone notice a trend?  If you look at the rankings and schedules YSU should make the playoffs at 8-4 but we know better than to think the committee would alow such a thing to happen.....

YSU can and will be exposed but the amount of points scored outside of the Top 10 teams is crazy..

Looking at game results for Week 6 YSU should realistically be ranked somewhere around 15 but more likely 20... Id prefer they keep them out of the rankings again so they focus on the opponents the next 2 weeks.

I wasnt in the pocket and cant confirm what Hess saw but watching on the computer I thought he missed the TE early and we were LUCKY that pass cleared the defenders reach....  WOW!!!!  Anyway, as earlier mentioned a team effort with a little luck always helps....  Give people a reason to visit Stambaugh on Saturdays and see what happens.... One opponent at a time...  Sometimes things have a funny way of working out.. Heres to continued success for the GUINs

Without past coaches and key community contributors with deep pockets the campus wouldnt look the way it does today. These people are crazy and self surving... I suppose they are afraid their $100k pension will drop to $75k...

YSU Penguin Athletics / Re: State of YSU Football

Im afraid that in 3-5 years YSU will need the MAC and at that point no one will care what YSU did in the 90s (25 years later) or if they want a home game in return...  With the BIG10 no longer playing teams from the MVFC the logical replacement will be adding more games from the MAC... Travel limitations (cost) and regional universities will benefit more and more from their Big Brothers... I just hope that the powers who be at YSU have a vision of what college football will look like in 5 to 10 years...?  If you all remember we were late to the dance with money games but must give the AD credit for maximizing the returns financially...

YSU Penguin Athletics / State of YSU Football
« on: September 18, 2013, 11:57:07 PM »
I watched the short interviews on Vindy.com of Hannon and Scalzo.  They briefly discussed what seems to be an overwhelming concern that is the MVFC.  How does a community rally around the program and get excited about a conference that spans thousands of miles and includes air travel with the exception Indiana State.  Hannon challenged the university to research everyones favorite topic which is a possible move to the MAC.  He brings up many valid points and suggests the MAC to get involved and let the university know what they can do to be more marketable to their conference.  I am afraid that YSU is really fighting to stay relevant and it continues to show through attendance.

Anything is possible but if YSU loses this game they better get a 2nd "Money" game in 2014 to make up for lost revenue in attendance for the remainder of 2013.

YSU Penguin Athletics / NDSU Future

I know this may be a little premature but is it possible that NDSU makes a quick jump to FBS? They have the resources and are certainly very marketable at this time.  Does anyone else think its possible that the MAC comes calling?

Regardless of what we think of Wolford I feel like the Athletic Director and Coach are falling into a cant win situation.  They constantly discuss the "STANDARD".  I think it sets everyone up for failure.  Its a NEW era in YSU Football and everyone needs to move on.  Its important to remember where youve been but 13 years later its more than time to MOVE and figure out where we go from here?
