YSU Penguin Athletics / Re: Donlon fired at WSU.
« on: April 02, 2016, 08:06:44 AM »
Ray McCallum has been fired by UDM after compiling a .478 HL win % in 8 years and took UDM to both the NCAA tournament and NIT tournament.

For comparison's sake, in the land of the absurd, Slocum = o.297 after 11 years...no NCAA tournament....no NIT....contract just extended....

Again ...show me the football program. He makes more than Bo Pelini. In fact about Bo and one of his coordinators would be the same salary as Ray McCallum. They said McCallum's salary in 2008 when hired was $380k. We can only assume it is higher now. He is a career .500 coach that will always be employed because of his race ...and the next place he goes he will not have a talented son that he can use for leverage, unless he has another at home.

I don't care if you ban me from this sh**ty little message board, you sir sound like a racist piece of sh**.

Welcome.  I lost sleep that night :( I'll never forget it.  Starting to wonder in my lifetime if we will ever come close to playing for a conference title again.

I'd imagine Marlon will and can already tell you Rick McFadden will as well.

Did anyone watch this game? Did Sarah Cash have 2 or 3 fouls when she had to sit? It look like she had 2, yet she stayed on the bench for the last 4 minutes of Q1 & all of Q2. During that time, the zips outscored us 22-4. I really like Barnes, but you have to question that decision.

Akron would of beaten us no matter what.  They were the better team that night.  YSU did not play sloppy but failed to hit wide open shots and seemed a step behind on defense.

administrator or not, you sound like a cuckold 1-aa.  Do you realize how many scholarships their are in FBS.  These teams fill scholarship spots to have kids their to run scout team and in many cases a kid realizes that's about all they are going to be worth to a big, or even MAC caliber program.  Why should they not have a chance to go somewhere and see the field?  Kids should have the oppurtunity to dream big but have a fall back.

Football is the last place Strickland needs to be.  Personal issue.  That's all that needs to be said.  Wish the kid well.

The problem was.....Minnesota has a quarterback who has regressed every year he has been there in Mitch Leidner.  They need to give the young true freshman Demry Croft some snaps against Ohio this weekend.

GET OVER IT.  Kid is representing what it takes to be a STUDENT athlete and is from the area.  What, should I not care about Fitzgerald Toussaint because he went off to play Big Ten football and not YSU?

LJ Scott leaving Sparty already :P  I don't know.  I don't get caught up in rumors.  I'll look at the roster a few days before the game and that's what I'll go with :)

agree, curious about the smaller board.

just throwing this out....as long as Matt Anderson is the swim coach that program will never sniff a Horizon League title.  Nick does a great job with the divers, however.

not all that uncommon for MAC teams to once in awhile land a Power 5 at their home field as part of a home and home or sometimes a 2 for 1 type situation.  In recent years Minnesota alone has played at Bowling Green, Kent State, and Ohio (Athens).

Ron Anders was who I grew up listening to, loved his style.  Robb does a great job.  We are lucky to have someone like him calling games...trust me.  I listen to a lot of games from around the country on my TuneIn app while trying to fall asleep sometimes.
