YSU Penguin Athletics / Re: Bad calls

Exactly...  I just can not understand how they reversed that call...  Really, should not be reviews, unless they have cameras at this level the same as major college football.  That reversal on one or two camera angles waa ridiculous.

No...  we were TOTALLY robbed by the refs for not going to OT.  Two overturned calls?  And the batting on the on-side kick.

Plus we now have to listen to Hannon, who is terrible at play by play.

Agreed.  That was bad.

Didn't make it down tonight, but attended the Pitt game last week.  Looked like a totally different team.  Man, we were awful.

The University of Akron just announced as part of major budget cuts, they are cutting their baseball program.

I hope Tress wears his 'Y' logo lapel pin for the coin toss ceremony.  Perfect tie in for him between YSU and Ohio State.

Watched the second half online.  Nice crowd and nice win by the Penguins.

Only problem (if we were to add wrestling and/or men's soccer), wouldn't we need to add an associated number of female sports scholarships?  (In order to comply with Title IX).

I understand the current players' disappointment.  But, five years no playoffs, 1,000 people in the stands.  Really, the university had no choice.  I was a huge fan of Wolford, still remember watching that Pitt game on espn3 on my phone while working bingo concessions at my son's high school two years ago.  Was a huge win.

But in the end, a time for a change.  And best wishes to Eric Wolford.

That timeout by YSU with 22 seconds left makes me shake my head.

YSU Penguin Athletics / Re: YSU FOOTBALL SCHEDULE
« on: September 13, 2014, 09:47:41 PM »
Regarding the schedule and attendance. Did anyone catch a glimpse of the Pitt at FIU game today?  Stadium looked almost empty.  Official announced attendance was 10,147.  Pitt goes on the road to play in front of an announced 10 thousand.

Not they would ever (which they wouldn't) play at YSU, but I would think we could draw more than 10,147 actual fans in a game against Pitt (or any other FBS school)

Of course it says "this northwestern Ohio university".  Didn't realize YSU was up near Toledo...
