YSU Penguin Athletics / Re: YSU to play Pitt in 2015 and 2017

Heacock won a lot of game in 2006 on a budget meant for an FCS program in 1994. Like it or not, Heacock was a very solid head coach. Going by his winning % he's the 2nd best coach in school history (not counting two year Dempsey).

I find it very funny how people say Heacock was not a good head coach. Imagine if he were coach under a 24  team playoff system? Woulda made the playoffs in 01 (8-3) 02 (7-4) 05 (8-3) 07 (7-4)

Don't give these people any ideas VT. They would most likely embrace us looking like idiots to appease their terrible music taste.

Ray Isaac was the best and most impactful athlete in YSU history. He did more for YSU than anyone-players and coaches included. What YSU has done to him is disgraceful.

Sorry you think that Mr. Issac.

If there was ever a reason I would support 12 - student athletes getting up and quitting a game, it would be when a school decides to play all 30's, 40's, 50's and 60's music to appease sr. citizens in the stands.

Let me guess, your generation was better than our generation now? Right?

You're right... The music of the 30's, 40's, 50's and 60's are so awesome. So much so, there's one station dedicated to playing it in the Ytown market and about 10 dedicated to the new stuff.

So from what I gather, everyone agrees YSU needs to make further financial investments in the basketball program.

YSU made a financial investment, above and beyond what the budget calls for last year getting into a post season tournament. Keep in mind YSU has NEVER made a men's post season tournament in Division I history. You Yahoos, the same ones demanding we make a larger investment into our basketball program, degrade the tournament and call it meaningless. This just proved my point further, that you all will scream and yell no matter what. It's the Youngstown mentality to complain, complain, complain. Meanwhile, you all offer no educated opinions to improve the tournament.

BTW here's a list of participants in the "Tom Dick and Harry Tournament"

Drake, Kent State, Belmont, Mt. St. Mary's, Missouri State, Creighton, Southern Miss, George Mason, SMU, Northern Iowa, Valpo, Ohio, Indiana State.

Those are some pretty awful basketball schools that we made a financial investment to get onto the same level as...

The sounds of the 50's thru 80's are absolute garbage. I'm glad I don't have to listen to any of it ever!

Is anyone starting to think rayI09 is Ray Issac? Seems to be the only person on this planet who still cares who Ray Issac is.

I think this proves the negative attitudes of all of you on this board.

Here Slocum beat Robert Morris for what I believe his first time as a YSU basketball coach. This is a RMU team predicted to finish 2nd in their conference, a RMU team that made and BEAT Kentucky in the NIT last year. And we're still chatting in a thread about the Austin Peay game.

Could it be the negative Nancy's here will never be satisfied?

It was a great game on Saturday. It's too bad after beating a school located in our region that has had a great amount more of basketball success than us all I hear it negativity!

That's right! Can anyone even remember  the name of that tournament???? That was a joke all the way around. Slocum and everyone was boasting that they made the postseason. I wonder who won that tournament???? What did they win a fruitcake??

They are so hard up they would probably agree to play in a ymca pick up league turnament then turn around and tout that as success. And speaking of wolford choking what about slocum choking that final game away in that tournament last season??? They blew something like a 22 or 23the point lead at home

This is such a Youngstown type negative post it killllllsssssss me!

Yea I agree IP students don't show up to many sporting events at YSU, it's a nice link to connect Trumbull county and YSU together at Eastwood.

LOL troll you gotta come harder then that. Sticks and stones!

Anyway drove past it today, the track is still in place, some areas are coverd over by dirt. The main sod is almost all the way up. Not sure about new Tennis Courts, but a new softball, soccer field and track are proposed for the west end of 5th ave.
