Heard we might have some depth problems at RB, one kid had surgury on knee, another needs to hit the books,  plus we are looking for another  kicker.  Somebody that left might be back that used to play RB.  As for the Akise Teague, I heard he never would give Wolford the time of day , when he tried to recruit him, sounds like he wont land here...well at least for now.  The Northern Iowa game will be a 7pm start,,,we want them to sit around all day!  They decided to seperate the home coming game and HOF stuff...makes sense...Did you know there were only 600 members in the penguin Club...please try to join even at the lowest level would be a big help...This is Big for the program..later!!!

Why would two proud Ursuline guys dis......each other??

Maybe Wolf, sees.

I've sent this opportunity to many kids, parents that I know.......you all (with OL/DL) aspirations should do the same.

We at Ursuline love our Kool-aid. At Mooney only champagne will do!

Great comparison ;D

And it's the truth. One is Kool-Aid......one is Champagne......

As distasteful as it is for this Mooney graduate to defend Ursuline, that school undoubtedly "saves" many more inner city kids than it "loses."  I just hope Wolford is being real careful.  He was desperate to upgrade the talent level for the first two years, but now I would hope that he overcomes the temptation to bring aboard unsavory characters.  Hopefully, the Rogers "quick fix" (no bad pun intended) will be Wolford's last.

Agreed. You live or die by JUCO's and "washouts"...from bigger schools. That's why these coaches get "overpaid", because no matter how good or bad they are.....they are just guessing and can't control these kids.

The "Great Society".....theory....hasn't quite worked now has it?

Akise lived with Reardon his senior year because Teague's family all lives in Georgia? Alabama? One of those two so he really never had anybody family wise here with him so Reardon was his father figure. Akise is a good guy, met him a couple of times. Sure he just made a mistake, a 2nd chance can never hurt

If true, does that mean Poland and Liberty can start recruiting kids from Ga and Ala.....??

The whole family lives in GA....and he is playing football in Y-town? Living wit the HS coach???

Were are the Vindy "investigative" reporters......when the story smacks them right in face......??
Akise is from Youngstown--his mother moved to Alabama before Akise was finished with high school--he wanted to stay and finish @ Ursuline and his mother wanted to move to Alabama with her husband who is from there.

South/East/Rayen and North High Schools.....used to be.......the refuge.....now it appears to be Ursuline.

All the great people named McDougle, McDonald, Mc-----whatever..who made that school great, at one time...would be "turning over in their graves". If they saw some of this in person.

One would only need to look at the playoff records over 38+ years (of High School Playoffs).....to prove your point.

I don't have the time to do that. But I'd put my money on Mooney!!

Akise did live with Smith for a time-If I hear any news I will post it.

Is there some reason...he only lived with Rollen Smith......for a time ???

Why did Rollen.......ask him to go???

And who did he go too?

Was it Reardon, who was the Ursuline Head Coach at the time ?? If that is true.....since when do HS coaches act as harbingers for kids???...

The statement "no one else wanted this gig" cannot be supported with hard data.  None of us know how many coaches contacted Wolford about the DC position.  None of us know how many people Wolford interviewed.  After the stinging losses to South Dakota State and Missouri State and the horrible first quarter at Indiana State last fall, some of us harbor doubts about the coaching capacity of Wolford and his staff.  But the credentials of the assistants that he hires are very strong.  No staff in YSU history had the background of Wolford's current assistants.  Now will that translate into victories?  It better.

Well said. I want nothing more than for YSU.....to be YSU again....
