I can't imagine the MVR without him. I'll miss seeing him.

They're definitely high risk high reward types, but I think that's a dance you have to dance at top 1-aa schools. It's an advantage we have over mid-majors that must be exploited.

Here is some school specific stuff (We are 158):

I hope you guys are right. It seems like our division is set to eventually become a mid-major/1-aa hybrid or a 1-aa/DII hybrid. If things shape out right (big if), we could have the best of both worlds with a national championship and division rivals like Akron

My bigger worry is that BCS will sort of break away and the mid-majors will effectively become the new 1-aa, possibly even with their own playoff and champion. I wouldn't bet on it, but any change scares me just a bit -- especially with so many traditional 1-aa powers trying to go 1-a.

I would not like exchanging playoff runs for the Little Caesars Bowl or worse, but it would make the regular season more fun to play against teams like Akron, Kent St., and even Bowling Green, Miami, and Ohio. Granted, I'd rather play them on Saturdays ...

I think this means less MAC vs. B1G as well (won't be completely eliminated, but less). It would be nice to use this as an opportunity to renew some old MAC rivalries. I'm not confident the MAC will relax it's stance on 1-aa road games, but a 2-for-1 seems reasonable. A consistent series with both Kent St. and Akron might help offset the lack of B1G games, and would certainly be more fun.

A source said either Pitt or YSU. But I'm sure other schools are involved, he just wants to be close to home. He is considering Pitt because it's not far away and he is good friends with safety Ray Vinopal.. The kid is a fantastic talent. Get him here

Hopefully he chooses the stronger program. 31-17!

Maybe homerism, but I feel like the Valley is perpetually cheated. Let's hope.

Probably not much precedence for a team with a solid win over a BCS school being on the bubble. Might have helped if Pitt had not thrown it away at Notre Dame.

Knock off the Sycamores and I think we're playoff bound. This is a team that can lose to teams they have no business losing to, but they can really be dangerous in the postseason. Would help recruiting anyway. Big game this weekend! I'm half-ready to make the 20 hour drive.

27
This could be a solid program for us. I think the city would get behind a strong team if they played downtown.

28
It may be academic, but would 7-4 get us in with 20 teams? Win over Pitt, 3 wins to end the season.

Pizza, all those teams have great defenses too. I think that running downhill is more of a conservative, consistent approach that good defenses allow you to have. Sort of a "don't lose the game on offense and let the defense win" kind of approach. I fear if we start running it we will simply lose 31-14 instead of 38-35. The offense has not been perfect, but it's the only good side of this team.

I miss Youngstown football. This team belongs in California or something.
