YSU Penguin Athletics / College Football All-Star Games
« on: January 04, 2013, 08:32:51 PM »
Lamar Mady has been invited to the Texas vs The Nation All-Star Game in Allen, Texas. 93% of players that play in this game sign NFL contracts and it's rated the #1 college all star game by NFL scouts.

Also, Will Shaw has been invited to the Casino Del Sol All-Star Game in Tuscon, AZ. Last year was the first year they held the game and 6 players signed NFL contracts off that roster.....

This is big news. Just goes to show hw talented these kids are. Congrats to both men!

Today is signing day for JUCO players. YSU already has one commitment

Joey Cejduo. Kicker from CA. Has a big leg and is a big kid. 6-3. Finally somebody who has a strong leg. Will definitely help on kickoffs? Had an offer from Arkansas Pine Bluff and was also being recruited by Arizona State

YSU Penguin Athletics / NFL Draft
« on: December 14, 2012, 04:26:08 PM »
We have 2, maybe even 3 penguins this year who could be selected by an NFL team on draft day. One for sure in Lamar Mady. Scouts love his size and maneuverability. Will be a great Guard for some team. Have seen him listed going anywhere as early as 2nd round on down to 4th or 5th. Another one is Will Shaw. Just converted to TE at the end of last year but man he can sure play. A little undersized at 6-3, 240 but is very quick. I know almost every team had a scout in to see Will this year. Could be picked up in the later rounds. And of course we have Jamaine Cook. Undersized, doesn't have great speed but he can play. Numbers speak for themselves. Not sure if he will get drafted, maybe 7th round but I think we for sure see him on an NFL roster. Reminds me of Ray Rice a lot. Also another one to consider is Mark Pratt. Nice sized center. Could get a shot on a team. Exciting times for YSU. These guys will be missed

YSU Penguin Athletics / NO PLAYOFFS
« on: November 18, 2012, 01:40:11 PM »
That's what happens when you lose 4 in a row. 2 of which you had leads and should have won. Another disappointing season for this football season.....

YSU Penguin Athletics / YSU has a horrible coaching staff
« on: October 27, 2012, 07:51:38 PM »
What does Eric Wolford contribute besides being a great recruiter and talking this team up real good? Shane Montgomery is a great football mind but his game plans have not been the answer the last few weeks. I believe Tresey is a good coach, he's just hindered by the players he has right now. Special teams coach needs fired. They have been horrible since Wolf has been here. These guys have been outcoached all year. What do they talk about at halftime??? How about all week??? These players are not prepared at all. Wolf said he was gonna simplify things today... That worked out real well. CHOKE

YSU Penguin Athletics / This team is not who we thought they were
« on: October 20, 2012, 09:51:01 PM »
Kurt Hess is overrated. He's being exposed. Offense has been shutout in the 2nd half in three straight games! Are you kidding me?!? Being out coached. Finally the defense plays well today and we still lose. Special teams coach needs to be fired. That continues to suck and haunt this team. Have to win 3-4 to make playoffs.... Horrible

YSU Penguin Athletics / 1st 2013 Commitment
« on: October 19, 2012, 11:51:55 AM »
YSU got their first commitment for next year. Kenny Bishop, a 6-0 170 pound DB from Fort Myers, FL. Had 70 tackes and 6 interceptions his junior year and held a offer from Mid. Tennessee St. Welcome aboard. Good to see us getting some guys early on in the season.

YSU Penguin Athletics / Southern Illinois at YSU
« on: October 16, 2012, 07:21:27 PM »
Must win game?? I like what I hear this week listening to players and Wolf. Couple changes being made for Saturday: Jamarious Boatwright is starting at nickel corner now. I always liked this kid every since he was playing as a freshman. Let's be honest #28 sucks. He was a RB last year for gods sake. Kyle Bryant is starting at LT for Radakovich and Wolf said changes will be made on the defensive line. I'm sure Aronde is the only safe bet to start. We need to get back on track and I think we will. Passing game needs to be on point because SIU loves to load the box and stop the run. GO GUINS!
