delusional is thinking staying in FCS a good idea. Enjoy irrelevancy and the and the 600 fans per game. Rather play on national TV a few games a year and get to a meaningless bowl game then play in a meaningless division for a meaningless playoffs they we wont ever win again either. Drop down to division II then for all that.

Going to the MAC would make us a little less irrelevant than we are now. As low as the MAC is in FBS it is still more relevant than FCS. The only game of the year FCS gets noticed is the money games. IAA championship on CBS made it seem relevant. FCS championship on ESPN2 opposite NFL playoffs not so relevant.

MAC gets a lot of nationally televised week night games during the season. Nobody thinks the MAC is relevant in terms of competing with big time FBS conferences but i would rather that irrelevancy that comes with some local rivalries and some national exposure then the nothingness that is the FCS.

What’s IRRELEVANT is FCS Football.  What’s Irrelevant is what has happened to the football program playing in a conference that the best we will ever finish is 3rd and once every 10 years maybe 2nd.  We either need to step up or drop down.  Staying where we are only destroys what little fan base we have.

FCS is literally irrelevant. Think what you want but MAC would be much better.

Rather play for a meaningless bowl game and against local rivals with slim possibility every 20 years to maybe go 11-1 or 12-0 and maybe get lucky in an expanded playoff then play in FCS that literally nobody knows or cares about.

i am not saying this is or isn't the formula for success but look at Oakland's key contributors. 3 of the top guys have been there 3 or 4 years since day 1. Refreshing to see in this day and age of NCAA and the NIL. Transfers will obviously be a contributing factor but I think having a few "program" guys certainly helps.

Sundance Wicks is coach  of the year from GB.  He has done a complete turn around with the program.   Last to 1st in his 1st year is unreal.   We got some tough games ahead.  PFW is unpredictable in the way they play night in and night out.   Oakland owns the tie breaker with us and is unpredictable as well. Wright St is playing good and a dangerous team.  RMU is coming on as of late too.  League is good and has 7 teams over.  .500.  We got the most victories with 15.  Thoughts??

as you stated, the league seems to much deeper and balanced this year. Not sure if one team stands out amongst the rest. We have as good as shot as any. Will depend on how we are playing come March and if we can put together a string of  games where we play consistently good defense and shoot well. I do worry we dont have that go-to player like Cohil last year. He single handedly won us a few games. Maybe Thompson is that guy but idk. Everyone needs to play solid and together as a unit to win this thing.

That is a solid win. I certainly was not expecting that. Would have been nice not to blow the 27 point lead but you know what, whatever. We beat what looked like the best team in the league last night. ESPN game Friday!! Lets go!!

Lol I enjoy both football and basketball. I will say though, an NCAA tournament birth is much more meaningful than an FCS football championship. The FCS is completely irrelevant. Playing in the MAC is better then a pointless FCS.

Mudclods I agree with your analysis but we do have the potential to win the league again if we can get the 3 pointers to fall.  Unlimited potential and the team hasn't played a full game to their capabilities.   Scary.

Top 3 for sure and certainly potential to win it all. What's up with PFW?  They seem like the team to beat based on their record thus far.

I just looked up the Albany-Villanova game. Villanova had five turnovers; Albany had none.

As others have noted, Villanova is the only CAA team that has the size and strength up front to compete in the MVFC. With James Madison and Delaware now gone, the CAA has become Villanova and the (fill-in the blank) dwarfs.

The CAA joins the Southern Conference, once the home of multiple championship teams Georgia Southern, Marshall, and Appalachian State, as a second rate FCS conference.

As we remain an irrelevant program in the irrelevant FCS.
