Hey guys, had some time off today from work, decided to make a little trailer video for this weekends game. Made the video, posted it to YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook, and tagged to a good bit of the players on the team. Hope you enjoy, little mixture between last years highlights against Western Ill, and this years big plays. Not alot of hype videos out for the YSU football team, so figured I would make a little compilation of some videos and highlights and see what happens.

Leatherneck Fan here....that's a really good video. Especially considering you're probably working with limited resources in terms of video footage (don't get a lot of HD video coverage for FCS games...although it's getting better).

I appreciate it! and thank you. It is hard to get a hold of quality video, so I had to get a little creative to throw it all together. Took me about 40 minutes all in all.

First let me say that is an excellent job on the video. I hope that it goes viral among the students and puts fans in the seats for Saturday.
To JJYSUWIN: Nothing wrong with the dry erase boards (or water bottles and key chains) it just seems like
minimal thought or effort has gone in to promoting YSU games.

Thank you everyone! Most of the players enjoyed it, spoke to my brother and he said a bunch of them saw it right after practice tonight. It was passed around in the Twitter world, and I sent it to whom ever runs the Facebook pages for YSU Athletics, and YSU Football. It really does not take all to much effort to put these things together, it's just a matter of whether or not you have someone in charge of doing it! As I said in another blog, this type of stuff matters to kids now-a-days.. Would be great to take care of business on Saturday, and make for a very exciting Homecoming game the following week against a good Southern Ill team (which i can actually fly up there to watch). Should be a nice crowd saturday.. No Buckeye game, and the last night game a couple weeks had a decent amount against St. Francis.

Very good Sean. Thank you for your work and effort. This is exactly what I think we need. I like the fact that there is no voice over just the video and music (except the part with Wolford talking). Just the words and music with the commentator voice over makes the video better than anything the company the university has used. Now you need to teach the Boobs that do the season ticket commercials this concept. I saw the one where they found some guy off the street and he says "This team this town" and then they try to get the coach and players to act. I would be too embarrassed to actually make that and sell it to the university for money. Your home made video was far better than that abomination. By the way I shared it as I promised. Thank You again. Great job with limited resources. I can't imagine what it would look like if you actually had professional stuff to work with.

What may really hit home is if you put on the rating page at the end.......and this was made because the athletic department has hired the worst video company in the universe and I wanted to prove a home made video can compete with the talentless company that does every freaking video.
In all seriousness though, I think they use the same company that did the green team videos for Mahoning county. Horrendous. Must be the lowest bidder

I wish you could do several more..maybe offensive...defensive players...equipment people. Anything to get the YSU and high school students interested.
Have to get more interest from the "non-aged" fan base and get them in the seats to take the place
of the majority. Over 60+ myself <sigh>

Really embarrassing. An "amateur" outshines the "professionals" . The "backroom" out does the YSU athletic dept. Talent out does $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
Prime example how worthless the athletic dept has become. Lead by that "great" leader, Strollo.

haha yeah, I noticed that after I uploaded it to YouTube. Would love to do more, just tough sometimes getting ahold of the films and highlights to cut and make a movie. But when you have the resources it is definitely not difficult to do.

If you want my film critique ...I would say it is too young of an audience:
1. Those actors are all has-beens that only people my age would really know...with the exception of maybe 4 or 5 that had timeless classic movies.
2. Besides this one ...Do you know what movie that song is from? That was a good film. So I like the idea of modernizing the song, but it will not appeal to most younger people ...as they do not know it's origins.
This all being said... Manfred Mann release a heavier version of the Mighty Quinn several years after the pop version. Maybe we could do something like that ourselves. First ...let's bring the song back.
