I'd like to see a game between YSU and Pittsburg State Gorllias (2011 DII National Champions) I know it wouldn't count for a "W" if we won but Gorillias playing Penguins would be a hoot!!

I see you point on the names ...just one more reason to play the non-scholly's.

Post by: IAA Fan on September 13, 2012, 06:21:22 AM: I like the topic. I was out looking at other names/mascots on-line. Mainly making sure we are the only penguins, their are some interesting ones out there. Funny because I do not see Great Danes as odd at all. A big powerful breed of dog.

I guess this all reminds me, when my friends and I had traveled to Statesboro for the 91 NC game and one of the comments was, THEIR MASCOT WAS BETTER THAN OURS, anohter in the group made fun of our one sided stadium and another said where are all our fans...because they probably had like 6000 or so Marshall fans, maybe more...there was what maybe 1k of us...my one friend Dave said to the group which included the cheerleaders of the Thundering Herd, " Last time i checked the game was settled on the field! The rest was history,,,So you guys debate the merits of a teams mascot! Go YSU!
