Looks like 2 of Oklahoma State's players are out for Wednesday.

OSU coach Mike Boynton also said Avery Anderson III is not as far along as they had hoped with his recovery from wrist surgery. Will be re-evaluated this week and will not play Wednesday at Youngstown State.

OSU guard Chris Harris Jr. suffered a torn ACL last week. His third on his left knee.

Anderson averages over 11 ppg; leads the team in assists, steals & FT %.

Harris wasn't a starter, but played in 32 of their 33 games.

Also, Coach Calhoun said Malek Green is a go for the game.

So that's all pretty big news

If we pull off the upset tonight looks like we will play Easter Washington as they beat Washington St @ Washington st.      81-74.   I just wonder if we are seeded the same as EWU because that would determine the site.  But we got to take care of business tonight 1st though...

Piss poor crowds so far by the hosting teams in the NIT.  Pack Beeghly tonight as we can set the standard for attendance.

Those were the only 2 upsets.  I thought Toledo might be able to beat Michigan or cover the 6.5 underdog, but they lost by 10 after being up 2 at halftime.  Michigan came out knocking down several 3s before Toledo scored in the 2nd half.

I wondered too if YSU has a shot at another home game if they can win.  YSU would have the better record. Before last night, YSU was 123 in the net and EW 128.

Coach Calhoun said in his press conference yesterday that YSU did put in a bid for a home game. So I'm not sure how that works for round 2.  Round 2 games are scheduled for Saturday & Sunday.

Rutgers arena capacity - 8,000
Michigan - 12,707

They said on the Michigan broadcast only the lower bowl was full. Watching Rutgers, it looked like most of their arena was full. Their arena looks like it’s laid out like Beeghly

Colorado and Wisconsin had small crowds around 4k and UAB Had like 2300.  Piss poor crowds.  Ysu can be the top crowd with over 6k in stands and that is why we need to open up the west side bleachers

This is a MUCH BIGGER deal for YSU then the schools you are referencing.  Most of those teams have been there before many times.  Not to mention alot of them had hopes of making the Big Dance. Also, some of them are probably on spring break.  Finally, we may never get another opponent of OK States caliber in Beeghly ever again.

With that said, how many tickets have been sold?

Need to box out.  Find your man and put a body on him flash to the ball with two hands.

They're the more talented team so I'm happy we're competing.

YSU definitely outplayed them the first half, too bad the lead is only 4. They drilled that long 3 at the buzzer & we had an easy basket had 2 of our players not crashed into each other. Had some chances to grab some rebounds & loose balls but they seemed to get several that were ours for the taking & they converted. YSU played good enough to be up 7 or 9.

Hopefully YSU can keep the intensity up in the 2nd half. Going to have to keep hitting 3's & grab some rebounds

Nothing to be ashamed of.  Okie had bigger and better athletes.   YSU had nothing inside and they needed to have an exceptional three point shooting game which did not happen.

If you can't put a body on someone and do a simple box out to grab a rebound, you don't deserve to win.... Heck of a season still. Until next year folks!

Says 4099.  The attendance numbers all year makes no sense.  That was easily the biggest crowd of the year.

YSU outplayed OSU, but ran out of steam the last 5 mins or so.  I was just hoping we could maintain the lead and not fall behind.  When some of those shots didn't fall late it became deflating, but YSU battled to the end.  YSU went close to 5 mins without a basket and that probably was the difference.

Their size wore YSU down and YSU had a lot of open 3's they couldn't knock down and a few layups didn't fall.

I just wish that long buzzer beater by OSU at the end of the first half didn't go in.   YSU should have been up 7 or 9 at halftime and it may have been a different story.  Adrian Nelson wasn't the same after he went down.  He was a force in the first half.

One note, on the post-game show Robb Schmidt said Brandon Rush will be back.

But will Calhoun be back is the question.   50/50 he will be back.  He seemed unhappy at end of season.

Whoever counts attendance needs to find a new job. I would bet my life there was at least 6k there last night. That's embarrassing to say 4100.

We have been inflating crowd sizes all year. No harm in that. We were not cheating anybody.  The biggest joke was claiming that there were 5500 in attendance for the Detroit game when the 1380 seats in the west stands were not even pulled out.

This was different. A big chunk of the proceeds, perhaps all, had to be given to the NIT.

If capacity is 6,300 and the crowd was 4,100 that meant there was room for 2,200 more fans last night?

There is no point in obsessing over attendance figures.  We should just be happy that the gym is no longer empty. For those that must know, there are exactly 1200 red seats on the lower level and 2760 seats in the bleachers on the east and west side.  That brings us to 3960 capacity. Of course we have significant seating in each end zone. Does that add up to 6300?  We will never know for sure unless somebody wants to do an on-site count of the seats in one end zone.

Whatever the crowd was it was a good look for Youngstown St Basketball and to the area.  Calhoun has achieved so much with so little money.  He obviously can find players for his offensive scheme. We were a jump shooting 3 point team.  With a bench that wasn’t deep.  We couldn’t rebound and defend and that showed up during the last few weeks when it mattered.  As much as Coach has evolved our program I hope he looks at himself to improve on our weaknesses and get better at coaching game situations better.  But Hats off !!! Job well done!

If NIT collects all the gate, YSU must have to report the paid attendance. If YSU gave away complimentary tickets for others to get in for free, it might not be counted towards the 4100 number. Just a guess in my part.

Mutual Ohio paid for all the students-which much have not counted toward attendance. And if the go by tickets scanned who knows. My ticket is rarely scanned and I could have literally walked in for free.

I also know the students can walk into the basketball game just by showing their ID card. I don’t think they were ever scanned.
Football is different. Students have to present their ID (at the ticket office or designated area in the student center) to get the tickets. Each ticket is registered to their ID so each student can only get one per ID per game.
Faculty and staff cannot get in for free.

Yes. I also receive half price discount as retired faculty member. However, I have to go and get my ticket in the ticket office a day before game day to get the discount. They would not give discount at the game day or at the gate.

I was told this was because they didn’t have a system in place at the gate to verify.

THAT WAS 20 YEARS AGO…..THEY STILL DO NOT HAVE THAT CAPABILITY TODAY.

If attendance ever grows, I think you will see changes. That packed TV game did wonders for YSU. I think the announcers mentioned the crowd 4 or 5 times.
