We will see if we get some respect with this decision. I know the kid from Monmouth had a great year but…breaking the all time NCAA rushing title and you don’t win this…means only one thing. We get no respect.
Go Guins!!

He should win the award hands down.
-
The thing to remember is that this award IS "what have you done for me lately". This is best O player for 2022, you career means nothing.

Stats and Hero sports has Jaleel finishing 3rd. But I think it is a prediction only.

At least Jaleel finished 7th. not too bad. if we had a better record and made the playoffs maybe he could have been invited to the award presentation. Any Thoughts on that?

I think the award is given to the best player for this season and not the player with the best career achievement.
Based on that criterion, his is clearly not the best player for this season and there are others have either better stats or impact on their respective programs.
That is my thought on this.

Somebody wins the Payton Award every year, but there is only one all-time NCAA rushing leader. With the modern emphasis upon throwing the ball all over the place, it is entirely possible that Jaleel's record will not be broken for a long, long time. As the years pass, having YSU associated with that record is going to be a great source of pride.
