I don't see over half the guys he signed! Where are the two quarterbacks, Brungard and Max Blank.  Where is the big 4-Star running back from Michigan State!   Where is Kennelly, the 6'6 freshman receiver?  Where are the two kids from Chardon!

Good to see 17 offensive linemen listed on this roster. Hopefully we can develop five of those into a cohesive unit. And of course I was anxious until I saw McLaughlin and Crenshaw still listed on the roster.

DMorton, none of the incoming freshmen are listed (only redshirt freshmen.) The exception is Van Keen from Stow who I assume graduated from high school mid-term and is eligible for spring ball.

Are the incoming freshmen being red-shirted, or they just don't list them?  I'm confused!

I believe these recruits are still in high school and will not be attending YSU till summer/fall 2022. Since they are not yet YSU students so they could not listed on the roster.
At least, that is my understanding.

Reason I'm asking is because we made a big deal of him recruiting so many guys!

Still in high school and probably running high school track or playing baseball.

So disappointing with the lack of local media coverage... I remember Joe Scalzo would have a few articles a week featured in the Vindy during Spring & Summer Ball...

Does anyone have scoop or insight of how spring ball is going?

I agree that the lack of coverage is disappointing.  Is it the local media or is our athletic department failing to supply info?

I guess that we will learn something from the upcoming spring game.  But even then, how can you determine development when you can't play outside competition?  I don't understand this.  The NCAA allows baseball and softball teams to play a fall schedule against a few other schools.  Basketball teams get two scrimmages with other teams (in a closed gym.)  But football is not allowed to do that.

Imagine how interesting a spring game would be against an Akron or a Kent.

Who are the other recruits not listed on this link?
The WR Trent was offered by Michigan?? According to 247 he is our highest rated recruit ever.

I read on the YSU website listing as 11 am a few weeks ago.

As I have posted before, I think the high school 2022 graduate/recruits will not be listed until they are officially enrolled in YSU for summer/fall semester.

Anyone have any info on the team during spring ball. Progression. Thoughts. Player personnel. Coaching. Disappointments. Injuries. Lineman.

I have no information.

Go Guins.

I also have nothing.  This is ridiculous.  If the outside media won't cover spring football, the university should provide regular reports on the athletic department web page and the athletic department youtube channel. Why do I get the impression that there are several dozen YSU business students who could market our programs as a freakin' class project better than the so called professionals that are on the university payroll.

Exactly.

If one wants to learn how NOT to promote the interests on the program and how NOT to generate the enthusiasm of the fans on the team., just learn that from the YSU athletic department.

You wonder why people don’t have interests in attending the Spring game. On this board last and this month, there were more discussions on our basketball program than our football program. This is supposed to be a football town. Weird!

This is an Athletic Department and program that continues to try and build on national titles from over 25 years ago.  Get over it already!

Normally I would completely agree with this conversation, forgetting the past ... even spearhead it. However, with the team being new and not performing well, it IS the proper time to dig back into the past glories. Besides, how long do you think Strollo and Tressel, going to be around? Both are now what I would consider "Short-timers" (just as I am at 60-years of age). The average fan needs a reason to get up and/or stay out in the cold, on fall Saturdays. We have to associate coach Phillips as part of this winning mentality with the fans and the recruits.
