YSU just lost there best QB. they have no chances with Crenshaw. Crenshaw has terrible footwork to small and cant hit a WR past the 5 yard line. like i said before good athlete but not at QB.

Well, to be honest, I don't think Tom Brady would do well passing the ball downfield with the amount of time any QB has currently.  It is hard to make 3 reads when someone or several d-lineman are in your face the second you look up from getting the ball in the shotgun. The best QBs have time to make their reads based on coverages at the snap.  There is a lot going on presnap with motions so that QBs can determine coverages and who will most likely be the 1st read.  I think Crenshaw needs to go under center more with two backs in the backfield for either protection or a release after not finding anyone open.  Run the TE in motion for protection on some plays. Run split backs in the shotgun for max protection and release one of them for outlet passes.  Crenshaw is a better runner than Waid so that has proven to be a plus.  It is hard to get a read on his passing since he is under so much pressure on every down, because teams are running run blitzes against our run formations, without protection, it all a moot point.  We got killed in the trenches last week at UNI.  Both on offense and defense.  Until we fix that, QB play does not matter.

Why? Do you think that he can be a star at higher level, he could be a star at SRU? Just asking.

Under the old transfer rules you could play immediately if you transferred down. You would have to sit out a year if you wanted to play up a division.

Been awhile since I've posted, what have I missed? Remember when we had the opportunity to bring back Montgomery as H.C. and failed to do so? He was your guy to clean up Bo's mess and produce decent coaching across the board. What I'm watching out their is equivalent to dads coaching pee wee football in the fall !! Best of luck to Mark Waid IMO he was the best QB on the roster

It was inevitable that the loser of the quarterback derby would transfer. Waid found himself behind Crenshaw and moved to another position. He also knows that Brungard is coming next year. Several people who follow high school football closely tell me that Brungard is a better quarterback than Waid. Hope that the kid ends up somewhere where he can play.

I made the comment because many of our 2nd or 3rd string QB used to transfer to the rock.
I like Wade. I was hoping that he could catch on with another 1AA team in a weaker conference.

Waid likely end up at Ivy League or a school similar with strong academics.  As for Brungard, he is not even being recruited at YSU as QB, but as an athlete.  Likely play defense.

Sounds right, will be interested to see where they put him.

Not sure if his size is acceptable, don’t know for sure, but Sherwood from Fitch is excellent

Also think Shannon would be a 4 year stud, but he signed for. Baseball at UCF

Brungard will not be a QB in college

Safety.  Couldn’t play any other position.  Hope I’m wrong

He can follow in our long line of undersized white safeties

Noticed that the young man from LaBrae left Buffalo and was only in the portal for a couple of hours before getting picked up by Missouri.

Did Waid ever find a new home?

Yah that kid from Labrae is 6'7" TE with good hands and lots of speed. He is not a QB like his brothers. Was not a starter, but played in every game in 2021 it says. This portal is really a nightmare for so many coaches.
