   INDIANAPOLIS – The college baseball season began last week with Oakland’s Mario Camilletti hitting .444 with two extra-base hits in a doubleheader to earn the first Nike® #HLBASE Batter of the Week honor. Youngstown State’s Collin Floyd is the inaugural Nike® #HLBASE Pitcher of the Week of the 2020 season after tossing 7.0 innings against Houston surrendering just two hits with seven strikeouts as the Horizon League announced its first baseball weekly honors of the season on Monday.

#HLBASE Batter of the Week
Mario Camilletti | Oakland | Junior | Infield | Sterling Heights, Mich.
Camilletti hit .444 going 4-for-9 with a double, triple, four runs scored and seven total bases with a 1.278 OPS and .779 slugging percentage helping Oakland to a doubleheader sweep over Akron. In game one, Camilletti hit 3-for-6 with a double, triple and three runs scored including the game-winner in Oakland’s 4-3 win in 14 innings. In the second game, he went 1-for-3 and scored the winning run again in the Golden Grizzlies 1-0 win to complete the sweep.

#HLBASE Pitcher of the Week
Collin Floyd | Youngstown State | Senior | Left-Handed Pitcher | Akron, OhioFloyd allowed just two runs on two solo homers and only three baserunners while striking out seven over seven innings in his first start since May 5, 2018. The left-hander, who missed all of last season with an injury, retired 18 of the first 20 hitters he faced and 21 of 24 overall while sitting down the Cougars in order in four different frames. Floyd pitched from the stretch just one time as he helped the Penguins to a 6-3 win in 11 innings over Houston, who was ranked preseason No. 35 by Collegiate Baseball.

Great Job Colin!  And great job to all the Quins.  Floyd pitched 7, but we won 6-3 in 11 innings, so this wan't a one man show either.
