Title: SIU Week
Post by: The YO Show on October 15, 2019, 08:46:59 PM
Desperately need to win this one. Anyone know the status on Mays? I'm assuming he's not playing this week and Craycroft gets the nod?

I think Mays tries to play again this week.

Wish his arm was as good as his attitude.

If he is anywhere near as hurt as he was during the last game, I really hope the coaches come to their senses and bench him. If he's somewhat / pretty healthy that is a different story.

Well, if there's ever been a must win game it's this weekend.

You've got that right.  This was always a "must win" if you subscribe to the 4-0 start and 4-4 in the MVFC games for an 8-4 playoff season.  With 4 top 10 teams on the schedule you can't lose to
They have a big RB (239#) and a 170# scat back for a pretty good running game. Passing not as good and they have been behind a lot, so you would expect more yards passing.
Definitely winnable, but nothing in the MVFC is a lock. (unless you consider our NDSU game a lock..........for them)

I only see ESPN+?  That is a shame...no bars will have it unless they subscribe.

I completely agree. Also sad to say there are alot of must win games in our future.

I am afraid that tomorrow's game is the most important in Pelini's tenure at YSU.  Lose to an inferior opponent, and we will be heading to a Heacock-Wolford state of indifference from every casual fan.

Good point Wick. The administration will treat Bo will be treated more like coach H, than coach Wolf. Bo has deep local associations.

Did you mean the CW television broadcast on channel 14 locally in Ytown?  Because I do not see it listed there at 3:00 tomorrow?

Depending on what provider you have but WBCB is carrying the game.

Down 7-3 but I’m kind of glad, this team crumpled under adversity against SDSU, would like to see how they respond now.

Yeah, if only someone on our coaching staff had some experience coaching defense to make some adjustments .

74 is a liability on the O-Line.... 7 is a liability on defense and look there..... Big plays against each.

If they score another td, this thing will be over. We don't have any QB talent to bring us back. Mays has heart, but we need talent

Well, luckily this wasn’t a true must-win unlike what some of you have claimed. This team needs to beat every team except NDSU and they are in the playoffs.

HOWEVER. That looks like an extremely tall task for this squad

Sorry, I do not want to trip and fall into the play-off. I would like to enter with some pride ...and another man in front of this squad when they take the field.

Definitely did not go to Mooney lol. Anyway i meant it’s not a true “must-win” by the literal definition.

We need to win 4 more games to make the playoffs and we have 5 left, 1 of them is pretty much a guaranteed “L” so id say the next game is our first true “must win”

You can't get into the playoffs without a marquee win and bad losses.

This is why 24-teams in the play-off is too many. 16 is perfect. If you must have 24, then you must define all teams that get in, as they do in D-II. By this, I mean the top-2 or 3 teams in each eligible conference. We do not qualify, nor should we be in unless we win every remaining game ...especially NDSU.

I mean honestly don't know why we are even arguing whether we will make the playoffs. We all know right now we arent worthy of it. Besides that, in order to make it, we would actually need to win a game in conference which I don't see.

You’re right.  I guess I just felt like I needed to inject some hope to these boards since we don’t have a ton to get excited about.

I still honestly think this team has potential to turn things around but I don’t know what they need to do to start that process.

Maybe 1 or 2, but that certainly won't get it done and I agree, we don't deserve it anyway.

what's the difference?  These are almost all Pelini kids now. if he can't get any more out of his recruits that we've been seeing, who cares if he doesn't prepare them, or they don't listen to his instructions, it's clear he has "lost" the team.  time to move on.
