Title: Cardale to YSU?
Post by: HLecter on November 22, 2015, 10:19:30 AM
I sort of "adopted" Glenville a few years ago as a high school team that I would love to support.  It was actually after they beat a very very very strong Fitch team in the playoffs, when the Fitch kicker unaccountably defied his coach's order to kick out of bounds at the very end of the first half and instead kicked the ball to Raymond Small who promptly returned it for a TD.  Fitch had a 14 point lead at the time and the gift TD paved the way for a big Glenville comeback.  But I digress.

During my years involved with them I have made a few acquaintances that I keep in touch with.

My "Ville boys told me last night  do not be at all surprised to see the transfer of 12 Gauge to YSU.  He has had enough of the situation at OSU and wants to get in a full season somewhere before trotting off to glory in the NFL.

With the Tress and Pelini ties to OSU, this could very well happen.  I welcome it.  Would be great to see my friends Junebug and Ray-Ray in the tailgate lot.

I would think he's NFL bound but I would welcome him. As long as Montgomery is not the OC.

He's NFL bound.  He needs to make money.

I would guess NFL, would have to sit a year for the zits. Does he have 1 or 2 years left?

he is a rsJR so he would have to go to 1-aa and since ohio state kids have a history of going there If he were to transfer he would go to Illinois State

I have to agree. I do not see how another year in 1AA would enhance his draft position in NFL. Getting in NFL now will allow him to work with the team to develop his skill sets.

Can't see him sitting out a year to wait playing for another FBS team, especially not the Zits.

Because he will graduate in May, he would not have to sit out next year regardless of where he transfers, but he'll probably go pro.  I believe most of the draft "experts" have him going no later than the 3rd round.

I just checked and currently Jones is ranked the 6th best QB in the draft right behind NDSU QB Carson Wentz

Agreed. I think he is better than the QB from Penn State.

Jones to YSU, were you guys serious?  C'mon man!!  NFL is MILLIONS even for a backup QB.  What would he prove or learn at YSU?

My sources in Columbus say this is a done deal and was after Urban made him a back-up again. Even at NFL minimum, he gets rich. He will get drafted and will get more than minimum.

As for  YSU, there is a QB problem here and it won't be fixed easy.

Read my post Paladin, no need for yours accept to do your usual YSU slam. What source did you need, Channel 10 or channel 6, maybe ESPN? He and Bosa verbally-announced after Saturday's game.

As a Browns fan, the idea of possibly rooting FOR Wentz would be interesting.  In the meantime for YSU, there is no doubt in my mind at all you can win with Wells at full time QB.  Will be interesting to see direction of recruting.
