Title: Horizon League Off-Season News
Post by: ysuindy on March 28, 2012, 10:13:08 AM
Lots of news breaking the last few days.

UWGB women's coach Bollant takes Illinois job

Valpo coach Bryce Drew interviewing at Mississippi State

Butler's Ron Nored gets the head coaching job at Brownsburg (IN) High School.  Large school in suburban Indy that produced Gordon Heyward and has a couple of young, highly recruited players.  Lots of discussion among the high school coaching community about this one - a guy with no coaching experience getting a job that is one of the Top 30 or so in Indiana right now.

Interesting read on Cleveland State assistant (and former YSU assistant) Jayson Gee and his recruitment of Kentucky's Anthony Davis

College Basketball Insider Jeff Goodman's initial list of D-1 transfers includes several from the Horizon League including our own Nate Perry and Cale Zuiker. Also Richie Edwards from Valpo (we could use him), Brito and Kadima from Loyola and also a few from Wright St.
Also UWM coach Jeter also linked to the Miss St job.

1-AA, N Perry was originally a walk-on who was given a scholly as a soph this year. He's not a D-1 player, so he would be best served moving down a notch and getting more playing time. Has a decent outside shot when unguarded but really can't create his own shot and is also a defensive liability against anyone with any quickness. Not much of a loss in my opinion and it frees up another scholly.
