YSU Penguin Athletics / Sports Network early prediction
« on: October 02, 2012, 05:10:32 PM »
Projections by: Craig Haley for the Sports Network. Seeds are (1) NDSU, (2) Montana State. (3) James Madison, (4) Old Dominion, (5) Ga. Southern.  He has YSU is the lower bracket.  Tenn. State playing N. Arizona in the opening game of that bracket. The winner of that game plays @ James Madison on December 2.

YSU plays at home also on December 2 against E. Kentucky.

YSU beating E. Kentucky would then of course play the winner of Tenn. State versus N.Arizona /James Madison on December 7th.

Montana State seeded (2) is also in the bracket and all they have to do is defeat Sam Houston State and if we keep on winning would play YSU on December 14th.

All of this would set up a possible rematch with NDSU.

Just fun to see the possibilities so look at the link and I am sure it will change from week to week.

Talking to Ron Strollo, he stated that work will continue even in the winter.  Of course those days of heavy snow will have an effect.  Priority is the build a 2 level playing field.  One level will contain the softball field the other level will have the soccer field.  First up should be the softball field, but that priority could change depending on time lost and unknown obstacles in digging and moving soil. In that case the soccer field might go up first.

Wow are we not reading correctly.  $400,000 is for the whole season.  YSU picked up about $40,000 of that for our visit last year. Also, rumors continue about the new all purpose Akron University basketball/ Convention Center next on the agenda of money being spent to upgrade their facilities.  They have "unlimited funds both state and private". Capacity projected at 15,000 for Zip basketball.

Pizza, YSU administration has this web site off limits.  They would lose their job if they responded to you.

Attended last night's games with South Beach.  Standing room only with most people looking to see Pitt players dominate.  Not so. YSU was very impressive. Very pleased with all of the action and contributions by our YSU players.  the player who was most impressive was Shawn Amiker. He was very aggressive almost scoring at will.  He has bulked up and  his physical appearance is completely changed and so has his confidence.  Shawn will be a force for us this year.  Our newest player Kamren Belin would have won the game ball had it not been for Amiker's performance.  However, since playing last week Belin has become mister "give me the rock" and get out of my way.  Beelin was above the rim most of the evening rebounding and way out in front on the fast breaks.  Some beautiful dunks and put-backs.  Damien Eargle had at least 4 blocks and two beautiful fast break dunks.  Kendrick Perry had the crowd yelling and applauding with his flashes to the goal and about 5 acrobatic dunks.  Mike Podolsky has improved and proved he can play with the big boys.  Some wonderful passing and shooting on his part.  Did not stay to see Blake Allen or D.J. Cole play but observed them last week and they will be fine.  Allen will shoot well again and now he is driving to score also.  D.J. Cole showed a years maturity and he will also contribute.
We will return next week, this competition is worth a thousand practices.

Don't ask about the sources but in agreement with IP.  Some if not all are exceptional candidates.  Question is how much does YSU or can they spend?

You should be a financial contributor, or at least a member of the Penguin Club, or a paying alumni organization member to have a presentation put on as to what is being planned both facility wise and scheduling wise.  Recently the Sports Administration made a presentation to the Florida Alumnus as to plans and future scheduling in football and basketball games in the state of Florida.

Another organization that has had the same presentations has been the Curbstone Coaches.

Let's put it this way, to be informed you should be part of the YSU information system/organizations not just a blogger.

College football games should all start at 1:00 PM.  High School games should be played at night.

These negative posts have nothing to do with YSU sports. they are as offensive as the high school tribal posts. Please remove this "negative crap". Oh and Iceman you are a true man of non-value.
